Vehicle History

August 2020 Go North East No longer intended to become a Driver Training vehicle at East Yorkshire; this vehicle has now returned to Go North East, albeit remains withdrawn and is being stripped for spare parts.
November 2019 Go North East Following withdrawal; this vehicle has been sold to East Yorkshire, where it now carries fleet number 9921. Scania OmniCitys 5234 - 5237 are all in line to transfer to East Yorkshire; the quintet of Scanias are expected to form part of East Yorkshire's Driver Training fleet, replacing life-expired short-wheelbase Volvo B7TLs currently in this capacity. The allocation of full-size single-decks is not only expected to modernise the East Yorkshire Driver Training fleet, but also improve driving standards, as it is more difficult to navigate a full-size single-deck than a short wheelbase double-deck vehicle.
October 2019 Go North East Following the entry into service of new vehicles on "Green Arrow" service 97, this vehicle has been withdrawn from service at Riverside Depot.
September 2019 Go North East Photograph by Following the loss of the single-deck Miscellaneous Works contracts operated from Saltmeadows; this vehicle has transferred from Saltmeadows Road Depot to Riverside, in order to operate "Green Arrow" service 97, pending delivery of the new ADL Enviro200 vehicles next month.
April 2019 Go North East Presently retaining "Toon Link" branding pending award of the Nexus Miscellaneous Contracts effective September 2019, this vehicle has transferred from Stanley Depot to Saltmeadows Road, in order to operate school and works contracts. This has in turn allowed for the ex-Go South Coast Mercedes Citaros previously allocated to the school and works contracts to transfer to Hownsgill to operate service X30 (Stanley - Newcastle).
April 2019 Go North East Upcoming vehicle transfers will see this vehicle re-allocated to Nexus Miscellaneous Works contracts. As such; this vehicle has had its free Wi-Fi equipment removed, in order to allow it to be installed onto another vehicle.
October 2017 Go North East In order to improve the customer experience on "Toon Link" services 6, X30/X31 and X70/X71, which all provide links between Newcastle, Stanley and Consett, this vehicle has been fitted with free customer Wi-Fi.
May 2017 Go North East Photograph by Having previously carried sub-branding for services 12/12A (Newcastle - Winlaton); this vehicle has had these vinyls stripped and new vinyls added, sporting the taglines "For city centre shops and leisure" and "Frequent buses to Newcastle".
April 2017 Go North East Photograph by With "Toon Link" service 12 being upgraded with the former "Blaydon Racers" branded Mercedes Citaro 0530N/Mercedes Citaro vehicles, now internally refurbished and repainted into a plain black base livery, this vehicle has transferred from Riverside Depot to Stanley. Upcoming service changes in May will see the "Toon Link" brand encompass services 6, X30/X31 and X70/X71 with a mixed allocation of Scania OmniCitys and Scania OmniDekkas (the latter of which are currently undergoing repaint). This vehicle's sub-branding for service 12 is planned to be stripped and replaced with new branding imminently.
October 2015 Go North East Photograph by Upcoming service changes will see services 31/32 withdrawn and replaced by new services 12/12A, with minor route alterations to provide quicker journeys to Newcastle. such, this vehicle has received sub-branding for services 12/12A (Newcastle - Winlaton), ahead of the service changes later this month.
