Vehicle History

June 2020 Go North East Photograph by From Monday 1 June 2020, in line with guidance from the government, Go North East's bus services will start returning to what can be considered a 'normal' level of service on weekdays (albeit still reduced on weekends), also with some minor changes which had originally been planned to take place from 17 May 2020. As such, this vehicle has now been reinstated at Washington.
April 2020 Go North East Following completion of all required vehicle re-allocations; this vehicle has been temporarily withdrawn from service due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and has been officially delicensed (SORN'd), enabling Go North East to obtain a tax refund.
January 2020 Go North East In partnership with South Tyneside Council; this vehicle has received exhaust modifications, increasing the Euro standard of this bus from Euro 4 to Euro 6.
February 2019 Go North East Photograph by With route branding across the network being reviewed, services 5 and 50 (currently branded "Whey Aye Five 0") are the next routes to lose route branding. This three-quarter life repaint into Go North East's fleet livery reflects the interworking of service 50 with the 5, the fit in of these services in Go North East's network, and the age of the Scania OmniCity fleet. As such this vehicle has now been repainted into Go North East's corporate livery. This example carries the tagline "Recharge your batteries | Many of our buses have power sockets on board".
February 2019 Go North East In order to enhance the quality of service provided to passengers on services 5 and 50, this vehicle has been fitted with free customer Wi-Fi. This contributes towards Go North East's project to upgrade every service in the Washington and South Tyneside areas with free Wi-Fi.
May 2016 Go North East This vehicle has now received "Whey Aye Five 0" branding.
April 2016 Go North East Photograph by With the operation of "Whey Aye Five 0" service 50 transferring to Washington Depot as part of service changes effective Sunday 17th April 2016, this vehicle has transferred from Percy Main Depot to Washington. This vehicle was originally VOR for annual PSV test, so was unable to transfer in time for the service changes.
March 2016 Go North East This vehicle has lost its "Cobalt Connect" branding, having been repainted into a light blue base livery. Upcoming service changes in April 2016 will see "Whey Aye Five 0" service 50 interwork with service 5, which is currently operated by Riverside Depot. Both services will instead operate from Washington Depot and fall under the "Whey Aye Five 0" brand, providing a consistent brand identity for services 5 and 50 on the Boldon - West Harton - South Shields corridor. It is thought that this vehicle will be one of five to join the "Whey Aye Five 0" brand.
April 2013 Go North East Photograph by This vehicle has gained branding for "Cobalt Connect" service 19. This brand replaces the "Route 19" brand and the former allocation on service 19 will be displaced as a result.
December 2012 Go North East This vehicle has transferred from Stanley Depot to Percy Main.
November 2012 Go North East This vehicle has been repainted into a plain red base livery.
February 2007 Go North East This vehicle has entered service at Stanley Depot.

February 2007 Go North East This vehicle, which carries a red base livery, has arrived into the Go North East fleet. It features high backed 'Civic V3' seating, and is currently being prepared for service at Saltmeadows Road Depot. Once prepared for service, it is expected that this vehicle will transfer to Stanley Depot.
