Vehicle History

June 2020 Go North East From Monday 1 June 2020, in line with guidance from the government, Go North East's bus services will start returning to what can be considered a 'normal' level of service on weekdays (albeit still reduced on weekends), also with some minor changes which had originally been planned to take place from 17 May 2020. As such, this vehicle has now been reinstated at Riverside.
April 2020 Go North East Following completion of all required vehicle re-allocations; this vehicle has been temporarily withdrawn from service due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and has been officially delicensed (SORN'd), enabling Go North East to obtain a tax refund.
January 2020 Go North East In order to isolate dual-door configuration buses at Saltmeadows, where they should only be allocated to Nexus Miscellaneous Works services, the scholars contracts at Riverside will now instead be operated from Saltmeadows. Provincial specification vehicles will instead be allocated to contracts from Riverside, where they are more likely to be allocated to services on the frontline core commercial network between schools, on weekends, and during school holidays. As such, this vehicle has transferred from Saltmeadows Road Depot to Riverside.
October 2019 Go North East As it is due 28-day safety inspection, this vehicle has transferred from Consett Depot back to Saltmeadows. The ADL Enviro400s are still not yet ready to enter service, so a further swap will take place, with three more Saltmeadows Scania N94UD/East Lancs OmniDekka temporarily being allocated to Consett.

August 2019 Go North East Ahead of the new academic school year, this vehicle has transferred from Consett Depot to Saltmeadows Road. This vehicle transfer is as a result of new contractual requirements for some of the Nexus Miscellaenous Works services for the 2019/20 academic year, now requiring a higher capacity, which Go North East's dual-door configuration buses do not meet.
April 2019 Go North East Photograph by This vehicle has transferred from Stanley Depot to Hownsgill. After two and a half years of development, the region’s largest bus operator, Go North East opened the doors to its brand new £3.5 million, state-of-the-art Hownsgill Depot in Consett, County Durham, on Friday 15 March 2019. The high-tech operation replaces the company’s Stanley Depot, which it operated from for nearly 100 years. Therefore; most vehicles based at Stanley transferred to Hownsgill on Sunday 7 April, the date from which the new depot commenced operations.
December 2018 Go North East Photograph by With the output for the double-deck boards on "Toon Link" services X70/X71 being revised to newly-acquired Volvo B9TLs from Go-Ahead London back in March 2018, the three remaining "Toon Link" branded Scania N94UD/East Lancs OmniDekka vehicles were re-allocated to the St. Bede's scholars services operated from Stanley Depot. Initially these buses were not going to be repainted into fleet livery, but due to a gap in the paint plan schedule and in line with other brands being removed following a review, this vehicle has now been repainted into Go North East's corporate livery. This example carries the tagline "Never miss your stop | Many of our buses have next stop screens and announcements".
