Vehicle History

September 2020 Go North East Photograph by In line with the re-commencement of scholars services for the 2020/21 academic year; this vehicle has transferred from Percy Main Depot to Washington. Washington will now operate some 'mincap90' school contracts, and the Volvo B7TLs previously allocated to Washington do not conform to this specification.
June 2020 Go North East Photograph by From Monday 1 June 2020, in line with guidance from the government, Go North East's bus services will start returning to what can be considered a 'normal' level of service on weekdays (albeit still reduced on weekends), also with some minor changes which had originally been planned to take place from 17 May 2020. As such, this vehicle has now been reinstated at Percy Main.
April 2020 Go North East Following completion of all required vehicle re-allocations; this vehicle has been temporarily withdrawn from service due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and has been officially delicensed (SORN'd), enabling Go North East to obtain a tax refund.
October 2019 Go North East Photograph by As driving colleagues have faced issues navigating this vehicle around the route on the private scholars contract it is allocated to at Riverside, this vehicle has now transferred to Percy Main. After the school holidays, 6167-6169 will be swapped for three short wheelbase examples in the short-term (but the longer-term plan is to repaint the three black examples allocated to this contract previously, when there is a gap in the paint schedule to accommodate this). Alternative plans are being reviewed to combat the high passenger loadings (which was the reason for the allocation of the longer vehicles from September 2019).
August 2019 Go North East Photograph by Ahead of the new academic school year, this vehicle has transferred from Consett Depot to Riverside. This vehicle transfer is as a result of the prviate scholars contract which 6126, 6127 and 6129 are currently allocated to, now requiring additional capacity, due to a higher number of students travelling on these services.
April 2019 Go North East Photograph by This vehicle has transferred from Stanley Depot to Hownsgill. After two and a half years of development, the region’s largest bus operator, Go North East opened the doors to its brand new £3.5 million, state-of-the-art Hownsgill Depot in Consett, County Durham, on Friday 15 March 2019. The high-tech operation replaces the company’s Stanley Depot, which it operated from for nearly 100 years. Therefore; most vehicles based at Stanley transferred to Hownsgill on Sunday 7 April, the date from which the new depot commenced operations.
July 2018 Go North East Photograph by This vehicle has now entered service at Stanley Depot, seeing primary allocation to the St Bede's Scholars services in Lanchester.
June 2018 Go North East Prior to entering service, this vehicle has had its seats re-trimmed into Go North East's standard blue 'Go' moquette.
May 2018 Go North East Photograph by Prior to entering service, this vehicle has been repainted into Go North East's corporate livery. This example carries the tagline "It's our fantastic people - all 2000 of them - that make the wheels on our buses go round and round".
May 2018 Go North East This vehicle has been withdrawn from service at Riverside Depot, and is now undergoing preparation for service at Saltmeadows Road Depot.
May 2018 Go North East Due to extra vehicle requirements associated with operating Metro Replacement services between Monument and Monkseaton, as well as operating Port of Tyne Cruise Ship shuttle services, this vehicle has temporarily entered service at Riverside Depot on the Jewish Scholars 850/851 contract. This, in turn, has allowed the ordinary Scania N94UD/East Lancs OmniDekka allocation, 6126 (GX03 SUY), 6127 (GX03 SVA), and 6129 (GX03 SVD), to operate the Metro Replacement services instead.
May 2018 Go North East Photograph by Previously with Brighton & Hove as fleet number 907, this vehicle has now joined the Go North East fleet. It is one of the first in the batch to be amalgamated into Go North East's fleet, thought to be being disposed of by Brighton & Hove due to their increased length (11.9m) compared to a standard Scania OmniDekka (10.6m). Though the allocation of this vehicle is as-yet unknown; it will be repainted into Go North East's corporate livery prior to formally being allocated to a depot, and is likely to find use over the summer months on Special Events and contracts (such as the Sunderland Tall Ships Park & Ride services).
