We’re putting on an extra service this Sunday from Newcastle to King’s Cross (08.50) for Gateshead FC fans travelling to Wembley for the Skrill Premier Play-Off final against Cambridge United. Good luck to ‘The Tynesiders’! More details can be found at http://bit.ly/1aC2BJd.

It's a bit late of them to be announcing that. If it was announced this time last week, then undoubtedly me and my clan would have got the train there and back instead of getting the coach.

Was thinking the same when I saw it announced the other day.
Saying that, the prices were sky high when I looked at them after beating Grimsby.

My only thoughts were that it would help alleviate crowded carriages and help spread the load.
I've been on the Sunday morning early trains before and it is surprising how busy they get - without a load of Gateshead fans adding to it.

Rather have a Class 91 any day, and it was running late!

You in First or Standard??

Were in standard, pretty busy but then it was first one south I suppose!

What is the interior like?
Guessing it meets East Midlands spec, rather than the GNER interior.

Worst set of them all, EC64. I'd rather walk. >Sad

Yep, all seating is EMT low-backed. However, coach B (the TGS) has one half EMT and one half First Great Western high-backed seats.

91125 is believed to be having its Sky1 HD vinyls removed at Doncaster at the moment.

However, an HST (powercar or set I can't remember) will be getting a commemorative livery to mark an anniversary of Craigentinny Depot.

That doesn't seem to have lasted two minutes! Gutted I didn't get to see it in the flesh.

I briefly caught it in Kings Cross last month. It looks quite smart to be honest.

Keep missing it too.
Saw the Skyfall set for the first time since its livery was removed, just the other day.

RE: East Coast - MurdnunoC - 16 Jun 2014

I saw the Sky HD HST set a few times while in Leeds a few weeks ago. It seemed to be permanently stationed at the same platform although that was probably due to me being in Leeds around the same time each day. On first glance, it looked different from other Class 91 sets.
