RE: Arriva 2015 Order - Dan - 14 Jan 2015 (14 Jan 2015, 7:39 pm)Malarkey I have when GNE had one on Demonstration on the Toonlink, did a Round Trip on the 31/32 and I thought it coped quite well with the route e.g. Climbing the Hills around Winlaton etc, but on the flip side I would have to agree with Davey in saying that a Vehicle with more Power and Bigger Fuel Tank would be better suited. That wasn't the StreetDeck - that was a Volvo B5TL/Wright Gemini 3. RE: Arriva 2015 Order - Malarkey - 14 Jan 2015 (14 Jan 2015, 7:40 pm)Dan That wasn't the StreetDeck - that was a Volvo B5TL/Wright Gemini 3.Bugger, but in terms of Engine Size etc they are pretty much the same though. Streetdeck - http://www.wrightsgroup.com/datasheets/A3%20streetdeck%20Update.pdf B5TL - http://www.wrightsgroup.com/datasheets/A3%20B5TL%20Gemini%203%20UpdateGR.pdf RE: Arriva 2015 Order - Kuyoyo - 14 Jan 2015 (14 Jan 2015, 7:21 pm)DaveyBowyer To be honest, with the exception of the 308, I don't see either the Streetdeck or Volvo B5TL Gemini 3 fitting into any doubledeck route for Arriva North East whatsoever. I think Arriva should stick with ADL bodywork for all bus types and if they see the benefits of using a heavyweight type on the X93, the Scania Chassis on the E400 MMC would be ideal for the Ashington Express work and the X10 / X11 from Blyth but, as Arriva like it, they put fuel economy before reliability and punctuality. If they cared about them two, they would've ordered B9TLs or N230s when they were on the market rather than E400s and DB300s (14 Jan 2015, 7:28 pm)ArrivaNE_7522 How do you know the StreetDeck wouldn't work up here? It's not all about powerful engines. Have you been on a StreetDeck to see what it's like? (14 Jan 2015, 7:39 pm)Malarkey I have when GNE had one on Demonstration on the Toonlink, did a Round Trip on the 31/32 and I thought it coped quite well with the route e.g. Climbing the Hills around Winlaton etc, but on the flip side I would have to agree with Davey in saying that a Vehicle with more Power and Bigger Fuel Tank would be better suited. To quote an industry insider from another forum Quote Hence the move to 5 and 6 litre engine Double Deckers. RE: Arriva 2015 Order - mb134 - 14 Jan 2015 (14 Jan 2015, 7:51 pm)Kuyoyo To quote an industry insider from another forumDoes this mean that the 5 and 6 litre engines at Euro 6 will be made to produce more power, or equivalent to Euro 5 counterparts? Or is that purely in terms of compliance? RE: Arriva 2015 Order - L469 YVK - 14 Jan 2015 Well put it this way, I've been on both a B5LH and B9TL up the Cradlewell Bank past the Corner House onto the Coast Road and whereas the B5LH does OK once the engine engages, but the B9TL goes up like a stink even with 80 - 90 passengers as I experienced after the home match against Everton. RE: Arriva 2015 Order - Malarkey - 13 Feb 2015 (24 Nov 2014, 2:10 pm)tyresmoke Hello everyone.... I believe Speke depot is also due a batch but no confirmation as yet. RE: Arriva 2015 Order - S813 FVK - 21 Feb 2015 I know Scott has already seen this pic but the first MAX streetlite has emerged from Wright. The picture shown below shows 1592: RE: Arriva 2015 Order - Jimmi - 21 Feb 2015 (21 Feb 2015, 8:03 pm)Robert I know Scott has already seen this pic but the first MAX streetlite has emerged from Wright. The picture shown below shows 1582: Is this example for the North East (Darlington), if so it can't be 1582 as 1582 is a Coastliner 306 branded example. RE: Arriva 2015 Order - Dan - 21 Feb 2015 (21 Feb 2015, 8:32 pm)Jimmi Is this example for the North East (Darlington), if so it can't be 1582 as 1582 is a Coastliner 306 branded example. It is indeed - for the X1. The fleet numbers for these vehicles are shown here - they were added originally when it was thought the vehicles would form part of Arriva's 2014 orders. RE: Arriva 2015 Order - Jimmi - 21 Feb 2015 (21 Feb 2015, 8:36 pm)Dan It is indeed - for the X1. Yay! looking forward to them entering service soon as it should mean the end of Solos and MPDs operating the 1/5/5A. I'm going to have to learn the Bishop - Crook section of this route soon though. RE: Arriva 2015 Order - S813 FVK - 21 Feb 2015 (21 Feb 2015, 8:32 pm)Jimmi Is this example for the North East (Darlington), if so it can't be 1582 as 1582 is a Coastliner 306 branded example. I cant clearly see the fleet number - there is one on there. Possibly 1592? There is deffo a 2 on the end of it. RE: Arriva 2015 Order - Dan - 21 Feb 2015 (21 Feb 2015, 8:50 pm)Robert I cant clearly see the fleet number - there is one on there. Possibly 1592? There is deffo a 2 on the end of it. I fully zoomed in and it looked like 1590 to me! EDIT: Front one looks more like 1592, though. RE: Arriva 2015 Order - mb134 - 21 Feb 2015 (21 Feb 2015, 8:50 pm)Robert I cant clearly see the fleet number - there is one on there. Possibly 1592? There is deffo a 2 on the end of it. Looks like it could be aye, and providing that fits with the fleetlist it looks like a pretty good assumption RE: Arriva 2015 Order - Jimmi - 21 Feb 2015 (21 Feb 2015, 8:50 pm)Robert I cant clearly see the fleet number - there is one on there. Possibly 1592? There is deffo a 2 on the end of it. Yeah it is quite difficult to see the fleet number, could possibly be 1592 as they will have the fleet numbers 1590 - 1594. I can't tell at all. RE: Arriva 2015 Order - tyresmoke - 21 Feb 2015 I thought it was 1592 myself, one of the 5 for Darlington. RE: Arriva 2015 Order - S813 FVK - 02 Mar 2015 1591 has been spotted at Heysham Docks. https://www.flickr.com/photos/81709772@N07/16073993004/in/faves-109436376@N07/ They seem to be going down the lack of registrations route too. RE: Arriva 2015 Order - citaro5284 - 02 Mar 2015 (02 Mar 2015, 6:29 pm)Robert 1591 has been spotted at Heysham Docks. Aye, linked to the ANPR and the vehicle not been taxed. RE: Arriva 2015 Order - S813 FVK - 02 Mar 2015 (02 Mar 2015, 6:46 pm)citaro5284 Aye, linked to the ANPR and the vehicle not been taxed. Do you know if GNE's streetlites will follow this pattern? |
