RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - cbma06 - 14 Apr 2015 (14 Apr 2015, 6:46 pm)MrFozz He has to be at times, having to keep up Asylum Inmates in check Yea the good old Michael franks coaches, used to use their coaches on the 153 from late 80's to early 90's, before their started to by modern standard buses. RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - MrFozz - 14 Apr 2015 (14 Apr 2015, 7:41 pm)cbma06 Yea the good old Michael franks coaches, used to use their coaches on the 153 from late 80's to early 90's, before their started to by modern standard buses.I remember there being coaches as late as 1997/98 must have been 1999 when Franks stopped running, Arriva dipped there toes into Murton taking over the 153 which eventually up being run by Wear Buses and became the 151 I think RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - cbma06 - 14 Apr 2015 (14 Apr 2015, 7:49 pm)MrFozz I remember there being coaches as late as 1997/98 must have been 1999 when Franks stopped running, Arriva dipped there toes into Murton taking over the 153 which eventually up being run by Wear Buses and became the 151 I think Yea, Arriva took over the 153 and extend it from the Lane to peterlee operated by MPD's, then Arriva split the service as a 153/53 one route when straight to peterlee via the X35 route and the other route ran via Haswell and Shotton to Peterlee. RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - MurdnunoC - 14 Apr 2015 (14 Apr 2015, 5:34 pm)Andreos1 Just to add to what Murdo has said, appreciate you sharing the info. Northern used to operate the 92 prior to deregulation. I had a relative whom I used to visit in hospital (with my parents obviously) and I remember using that service (along with the 639) on the way back home. If I recall, it was usually allocated a double-decker so your recollection is correct. Previous to the 92, it was the 26 that used to operate via Whinbury Road to the QE. A timetable from 1979 is available on my blog which I stopped updating quite some ago... RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Andreos1 - 15 Apr 2015 (14 Apr 2015, 10:07 pm)MurdnunoC Northern used to operate the 92 prior to deregulation. It may have been when the metro started. You should get that blog going again. Used to read it (before I knew it was yours) and have had a look since. RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - MurdnunoC - 15 Apr 2015 (15 Apr 2015, 11:48 am)Andreos1 Aye, the 26 stopped going that way and went to Birtley at some point in the late 70's/early 80's. It was. There were quite a few 'cross-tyne' services before the Metro was built. You should get that blog going again. You never know - I may do. The main reason I stopped posting before was because it got in the way of my uni-work. I also ran out of ideas of which timetables and services to include. However if someone made a suggestion or submitted a request for a timetable; I might oblige. RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Andreos1 - 15 Apr 2015 (15 Apr 2015, 9:26 pm)MurdnunoC It was. There were quite a few 'cross-tyne' services before the Metro was built. I reckon you should specialise in Fencehouses, as a tribute to the campaign you loved so much . My own requests would revolve around places I have worked or lived. Appreciate it is narrow and may not float everyone's boat, but would stir long forgotten memories of mine (and maybe a few others). Sure Lee would love some Barley Mow stuff, Adam - Gateshead/Wrekenton, Malarkey and aureolin - Washington etc RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - MrFozz - 16 Apr 2015 (15 Apr 2015, 10:27 pm)Andreos1 I reckon you should specialise in Fencehouses, as a tribute to the campaign you loved so much . And Mr Fozz - Murton/East Durham shit RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - cbma06 - 16 Apr 2015 from facebook page: The Northern Road Transport Trust copyright to Neil Heskett's photos https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1584352215181045&set=p.1584352215181045&type=1&theater RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Michael - 16 Apr 2015 (16 Apr 2015, 12:14 pm)cbma06 from facebook page: So its being confirmed the 47 is joining the Red Kite brand =) Gotta wait till May for the Coast & Country/ Red Kite ones! Toonlink - confirmed for Omnicities?, and a whole new look... hopefully... its gonna be black and white... but keeps the ToonLink name.. (it kills me to say black and white ) 2 more brands to be introduced to Sunderland routes..... That'll be the 35/36 and 61 brands... ------------------------- Just spotted a mistake... Drivers at Stanley, Deptford Chester-le-street and Riverside will be driving 33 new Shiny buses? RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - S813 FVK - 16 Apr 2015 (16 Apr 2015, 12:20 pm)Michael So its being confirmed the 47 is joining the Red Kite brand =) Think they are maybe referring to the brands rather than the buses in Deptfords case? It will be interesting to ssee if the 47 is transferred to Stanley along with the 45 and 46 or whether it will remain at Riverside RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - omnicity4659 - 16 Apr 2015 (16 Apr 2015, 3:24 pm)Robert Think they are maybe referring to the brands rather than the buses in Deptfords case? RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - S813 FVK - 16 Apr 2015 (16 Apr 2015, 3:27 pm)Tommy_1581 Deptford might be getting new buses though... If they were, i would have thought it would have appeared in the article. RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Tom - 16 Apr 2015 (16 Apr 2015, 3:28 pm)Robert If they were, i would have thought it would have appeared in the article. Yeah I think it's a mistake. Unless they are getting cascades from Brighton? I can only see the 17 getting Solars now - pretty good though still, much better than the B10s they currently have. RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Malarkey - 16 Apr 2015 (16 Apr 2015, 3:28 pm)Robert If they were, i would have thought it would have appeared in the article. Unless they are getting some of the Omnidekkas from Brighton. RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Michael - 16 Apr 2015 (16 Apr 2015, 3:24 pm)Robert Think they are maybe referring to the brands rather than the buses in Deptfords case? It will be interesting to ssee if the 47 is transferred to Stanley along with the 45 and 46 or whether it will remain at Riverside Maybe, atm i think they might be, rest of the order hasn't being released yet. Would be good if Stanley gained the 47, not sure how much deadmilage would come up on it. RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - S813 FVK - 16 Apr 2015 (16 Apr 2015, 3:33 pm)Michael Maybe, atm i think they might be, rest of the order hasn't being released yet. Can't imagine there would be too much dead milage. Blackhall Mill is closer to Consett than Riverside. RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Michael - 16 Apr 2015 (16 Apr 2015, 3:30 pm)Tom Yeah I think it's a mistake. Some reason i see the X21 getting them, with the rest as spares. Wonder when we'll get rest of the order... would like to see better buses on East Durham, North tyne links. As for decker's ill go for Crusader only. RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Tom - 16 Apr 2015 (16 Apr 2015, 3:35 pm)Robert Can't imagine there would be too much dead milage. Blackhall Mill is closer to Consett than Riverside. Yes but they won't run from Blackhall Mill to the depot? One of them terminate at Winlaton Mill, and others will finish at Eldon Square. RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes - MrFozz - 16 Apr 2015 (16 Apr 2015, 12:20 pm)Michael So its being confirmed the 47 is joining the Red Kite brand =)What brand will the 61 get??? Back to Drifter??? |
