RE: Wrightbus - NewcastleOne - 16 Oct 2019 (16 Oct 2019, 9:33 am)streetdeckfan Bloody Hell RE: Wrightbus - BusLoverMum - 17 Oct 2019 (16 Oct 2019, 9:33 am)streetdeckfan There comes a point where expectations become unrealistic. It's not like gne planned for wrightbus to go under after they'd already started re-allocating and re-painting vehicles that they expected to replace with new. RE: Wrightbus - Stanleyone - 18 Oct 2019 http://www.passengertransport.co.uk/2019/10/bamford-on-brink-of-deal-to-save-wrightbus/ A few green backed streetdecks can be seen in the photo. When this deal is complete we should see deliveries soon in my opinion. RE: Wrightbus - streetdeckfan - 18 Oct 2019 (18 Oct 2019, 3:46 pm)Stanleyone http://www.passengertransport.co.uk/2019/10/bamford-on-brink-of-deal-to-save-wrightbus/Is that a dark brown dashboard or is it just my eyes? Looks awful Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk RE: Wrightbus - Stanleyone - 18 Oct 2019 (18 Oct 2019, 4:19 pm)streetdeckfan Is that a dark brown dashboard or is it just my eyes? Yes I think it does look brown, it’s not the dash though, that’s above it. Do wonder how much of the surround will be noticeable on the finished product. RE: Wrightbus - streetdeckfan - 18 Oct 2019 (18 Oct 2019, 5:30 pm)Stanleyone Oh aye, so it is! I was looking at it on my phone so it all just sort of blurred together! That might just be the raw plastic colour and it hasn't been painted yet. Wonder if it'll get painted the usual blue or grey to match the E200/E400s RE: Wrightbus - Michael - 19 Oct 2019 So have Wrightbus started back up then?, if so, when are we expecting the first streetdecks done? RE: Wrightbus - Stanleyone - 19 Oct 2019 (19 Oct 2019, 9:43 am)Michael So have Wrightbus started back up then?, if so, when are we expecting the first streetdecks done? The article suggests that it’s not back in production yet, but it won’t be long. Looks like there’s a few nearly complete so I would think it’ll only be a matter of weeks before we see the first arrivals. RE: Wrightbus - Michael - 19 Oct 2019 (19 Oct 2019, 10:22 am)Stanleyone Ah right thanks, RE: Wrightbus - Stanleyone - 22 Oct 2019 Bamford bus company complete deal for wrightbus. 60 staff retained by administrators are transferred to new company and recruitment to commence within weeks. RE: Wrightbus - Ianthegoon - 22 Oct 2019 (22 Oct 2019, 3:28 pm)Stanleyone Bamford bus company complete deal for wrightbus. 60 staff retained by administrators are transferred to new company and recruitment to commence within weeks. "recruitment to commence within weeks" doesn't give much confidence that the virtually-complete vehicles in the factory are going to be released particularly soon ..... RE: Wrightbus - Stanleyone - 22 Oct 2019 (22 Oct 2019, 5:44 pm)Ianthegoon Depends really on what those 60 staff have been working on. RE: Wrightbus - streetdeckfan - 22 Oct 2019 I heard that it was going to be a good month or so until the new buses were going to start arriving, so it seems to fit with the statement Wrightbus - TEN 6083 - 22 Oct 2019 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-50143581 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk RE: Wrightbus - Andreos1 - 22 Oct 2019 I think what really stands out, is that Bamford already had dealings with Wrightbus prior to the problems this year. According to one source... https://www.irishnews.com/news/2019/10/12/news/as-jcb-heir-s-son-takes-wrightbus-reins-how-many-jobs-can-be-saved--1736870/ He left JCB in January after 14 years to set up another company called Ryse, which provides hydrogen refuelling to buses, and had already had links with Wrightbus, with their joint venture securing a 10-year contract from Transport for London to convert 20 buses to run on hydrogen.
