Solo YT51 EAY now has max single/return fares on the windscreen (presumably for Service 42.)

Are they running service 42 commercially then? As I know the 252 is tendered.

I'm not sure, I think originally they were only going to operate the school day journeys previously operated by Central Coaches. Like other Scarlet Band services the 42 drops off service around lunchtime so it may be commercial.

I'd like to see them promote the £1 single fare between Laburnum Road and Darlington Town Centre on Service 16, as passenger numbers aren't great on that section of the route.

RE: Scarlet Band Motors - Jimmi - 23 May 2014

Further Service changes from Monday June 2nd.

Service 111 will now be operated by Weardale on Saturdays.

Ex Nottingham Solo Y236LRR now has a front LED screen.

It is still in dire need of a repaint though.

Has scarlet band won the park and rides

RE: Scarlet Band Motors - peter - 22 Jun 2014

(22 Jun 2014, 3:28 pm)jaimz13 Has scarlet band won the park and rides

I would delete this post and instead ask on this thread: http://northeastbuses.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=848&page=20 "Any details on who has won the Park and Ride contract?" as at the moment there is no indication to show that Scarlet Band are any more likely than Arriva, Go North East or any other operator to gain the contract hence why it is easier to ask on the thread in the link above than to ask "Has (operators name) won the park and rides" on the thread of each and every operator that could gain them. Scarlet Band is not the only operator in the North East going for this contract which is another reason why any discussion about the contract should take place on the thread above and not the thread of an individual operator who is just one among many bidding for the contract.

It could be that a Scarlet Band employee has advised jaimz13 that the company will be operating the Park & Ride services in Durham, hence his post in this thread.

If that wasn't the case, then I'd agree with you.

Scott will be able to provide more details, but it emerged last night that Scarlet Band have indeed regain the Durham Park & Ride contract from later this year after 5 years since the controversy surrounding of the awarding of the service to Arriva.

Yes I was told a couple of days ago that Scarlet Band have indeed (re)gained the contract for the Durham Park & Ride service.
It will be interesting to see what vehicles they buy or lease to operate it with... given the contractual requirement was for 10 Euro 6 vehicles, to cover a PVR of 9.
The contract starts on 27th October, and will run for 5 years, with extensions available for a further 2 or 3 years if awarded.

I don't know a lot about leasing, but what's the chances of them being able to get a hold of 10 Euro 6 midibuses by that start date? If they opt to purchase them, then they're really going to have to put an order in imminently to have them in time?

RE: Scarlet Band Motors - JoshP - 22 Jun 2014

I'm hunching a guess at Streetlites or a Euro 6 Optare (if they are to exist)

RE: Scarlet Band Motors - R852 PRG - 27 Jun 2014

Saw a Scarlet Band Enviro200 operating the Chester local services - don't think this is the norm as it's usually a Solo.

As you say it is usually a Solo, the Enviro that they had out today was MX10DXK.

RE: Scarlet Band Motors - Dan - 28 Jun 2014

Solo YJ05JWO on the X49 in Durham today.

RE: Scarlet Band Motors - R852 PRG - 03 Jul 2014

I see a former-GNE Chester based driver is now operating the Scarlet Band local services in and around CLS

Forget about that, just seen it in Ferryhill again.

Its always on other routes on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays when Service 20 doesn't operate (normally it works the 33 or Barnard Castle services, although I once saw it on the X49)
