RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Adrian - 14 Jan 2015 You got: Central Station From 9am-5pm you’re always in a hurry to get somewhere, frenetic and harried. But on the weekends you like something a little slower, like taking a mainline train through Britain’s green and pleasant countryside. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - DanPicken - 14 Jan 2015 You got: Ilford Road You’re beautiful, in your own unique way. A little haven of greenery out of the city, people come to you to unwind. You’re cultured, but awkward, and don’t make friends easily. For one thing, you make people tramp out of the station and over a road bridge to cross platforms. Tyne and Wear Metro - R852 PRG - 14 Jan 2015 You got: Byker You’re often stereotyped as being rough, downtrodden and deadbeat. People see you in one way, and they’re wrong. Don’t let the haters get to you: you’re vibrant, beautiful, and have boundless possibilities. Go out there and get the world. I didn't copy off Dan! I just made myself seem very anti-Newcastle (family support Sunderland). RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Dan - 14 Jan 2015 I expected a station closer to or in Wearside given my answer for the football question... Never mind... RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - citaro5284 - 14 Jan 2015 (14 Jan 2015, 6:52 pm)aureolin You got: Central Station snap! Tyne and Wear Metro - R852 PRG - 14 Jan 2015 May I ask who the hell came up with all of these?! 'You are vibrant and beautiful in your own unique way'...WTF? RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Tom - 14 Jan 2015 You got: Airport You’ve a yen to escape, and the means to do it. Situated right at the end of the Metro system, you’re the person to whom people come when they need to turn their life around. But you leave people waiting while the driver changes ends. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - S813 FVK - 14 Jan 2015 You got: Jesmond Hands up: you went to private school, didn’t you? You’re the station everyone envies, but also hates — because it’s impossible to move on carriages bound for Jesmond between 8-9am and 4-5pm. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Andreos1 - 15 Jan 2015 Crossing lights donated to Wensleydale Railway http://www.nexus.org.uk/news/item/heritage-railway-gets-metro-level-crossing-lights?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - citaro5284 - 20 Jan 2015 http://www.nexus.org.uk/news/item/passengers-vote-colour-scheme-city-centre-metro-station RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Dan - 20 Jan 2015 Only briefly read over the article (needless to say why, looking at the time), but I don't really see the point in colours at Central? A more confusing station like Monument, maybe... RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Michael - 21 Jan 2015 Tyne and Wear Metro 5 mins · There are delays of up to 15 mins between Howdon and St James , up to 30 mins between St James and The Coast, this is due to a failed train. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - idiot - 21 Jan 2015 Well my metro left south Shields late causing me to miss my connection at Pelaw and hsd to wait for next one towards Sunderland RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Dan - 22 Jan 2015 Tyne and Wear Metro 2 mins · There are delays of up to 40 mins between Tynemouth and St James , up to 30 mins between St James and The Coast, this is due to a police incident. Impressed to see an update at this time of night... RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - DanPicken - 23 Jan 2015 (22 Jan 2015, 10:53 pm)Dan Tyne and Wear Metro How can it be 30 between The Coast and St James but 40 between Tynemouth and St James when Tynemouth is between The Coast and St James. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - S813 FVK - 23 Jan 2015 (23 Jan 2015, 5:35 pm)danpick How can it be 30 between The Coast and St James but 40 between Tynemouth and St James when Tynemouth is between The Coast and St James. The fact that St James' is positioned in the notice before a station at the coast and also after a station at the coast suggests that one delay is for 1 direction and the other delay is for the other direction. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Dan - 23 Jan 2015 (23 Jan 2015, 5:57 pm)Robert The fact that St James' is positioned in the notice before a station at the coast and also after a station at the coast suggests that one delay is for 1 direction and the other delay is for the other direction. The trains will have layover at each end (St. James and South Shields), and I assume this will be around 10 minutes, hence allowing the opportunity for time to be made up when heading out of St. James. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Dan - 28 Jan 2015 Thankfully hasn't affected trains, but there was just a power cut of some sort at Park Lane. All the lights and escalators went off, then an incredibly loud vacuum-like noise came on for about a minute or two, and then everything went back to normal. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - BJ10VUS - 30 Jan 2015 Not sure where to put this, but it's attached to Northumberland Park Metro? Is anyone aware of the reason as to why the road bridge over Northumberland Park Metro has never been opened? It just seems a bit odd that they've built one with a road on, but haven't opened it for nearly nine years! RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - roar - 31 Jan 2015 (28 Jan 2015, 3:10 pm)Dan then an incredibly loud vacuum-like noise came on for about a minute or two Extractor fans to remove smoke if they was a fire with it being an enclosed station. They will be activated manually, with a power cut or a fire alarm activation. They sometimes turned on in Sunderland Central if a smoky Grand Central HST is coming in to prevent the fire alarms being activated. |
