(05 Dec 2015, 1:08 pm)Jimmi Despite signs saying that the A66 was closed to high sided vehicles, there was still some lorry's heading down the A66, on the opposite carriageway there was one off the road and had jack knifed on my way home from Blackpool this morning. Many of the fields in the Tebay and Kirkby Stephen area are flooded.

Well it's completely closed now

Flood warnings for hurworth and croft. Pics circulating of water almost up to the top of the arches of the bridge at croft, interspersed with the floating sofa in Appleby.

And prebeNds bridge in Durham is now closed due to flooding.

On a Gemini x12. Sitting downstairs. You couldn't pay me to sit upstairs today.

The blinds in the cafe of the boro house of Fraser were flapping wildly as it still has the old metal windowfrsmes.

Big'un has the captain's seat behind the door.

Little'un is at home, probably driving his dad up the wall. The wind has sent him wild.

When I went to Morpeth a couple of days ago the river was quite high, I'd hate to see it now. The defences have probably stopped another devastating flood in the town.

I do hope they've worked. Some in Cumbria have failed

Bbc seems to have the best updates for the whole region. Ive been glued to my news & weather list on twitter.

Tees flyover's shut for the night, now. I guess they're not taking any risks when there's anough ongoing incidents to be dealing with.

(05 Dec 2015, 9:44 pm)Andreos1 Durham is looking bad!

Not unexpected. Thankfully, most (not all) of the newer buildings along the riverbank have vaults under them - usually car parks or something that don't get destroyed by wet. The Radisson has had a few close calls, mind, with water coming up towards the top of the steps.

Fatfield will be dodgy tonight too.

Mind, looking at that photo - where has that bloke been? Emerging from underneath the bridge behind the cordon!

RE: Weather - Michael - 06 Dec 2015

Advice for any away fans thinking of travelling to Carlisle United's Brunton Park:

Don't.

Might take a few weeks for it to clear.

RE: Weather - Michael - 06 Dec 2015

From Carlisle United Facebook page:

Just speaking to club captain Danny Grainger on the team bus. A lot of concern from the lads about all those affected by this weekend's events up in Cumbria and the Borders. Every member of the squad has agreed that they want to help, if at all possible, so they have spoken to manager Keith Curle, and it has been agreed that we will all be available after training on Tuesday to help out in any way possible. Clearing furniture, cleaning, tidying - anything that is needed and that will help. Contact us on media@carlisleunited.co.uk if you think the lads can help you with your situation #oneteam #cufc #community #staypositive

RE: Weather - LeeCalder - 06 Dec 2015

Well earlier, myself, Sam Tillson, Gary Hunter and Scott Atkinson went on a little adventure that took us as far as Stanhope and Alston. Getting there proved difficult, as we had to cross a few 'Fords', one of which was quite swollen.... This is Guessburn near Stocksfield....
