(14 Jan 2013, 5:29 pm)Daniel wrote They have driver swaps at Sunderland and I've witnessed so many occasions where the driver hasn't turned up...
The driver of the 230 was once having a discussion with an Arriva driver and he said, "Well why don't you just radio in to control to see where the driver is?" - the driver responded, "The radio system doesn't work like that with us..."
Come on, how are the drivers meant to get in touch with control? Get out of their cab and use their mobile?!
EDIT: Actually, saying that... I've been on a Stagecoach in Sunderland bus in the past and that has happened. :L

I believe it's March, that was a date mentioned when I first heard about it.
I've pulled an article that says March too, might be worth asking the Arriva North East facebook wall but they are a lil, pardon the pun, snowed under tonight

Many thanks - that's when I'll gladly go to Darlington to get some photos of Arriva buses!
...Not displaying any favoritism, of course.
http://d.pr/i/DYVo does that for me

Good find that, being having a good look through.
The EcoCitys' are way more interesting than whats going on the 308. Faff getting to Darlo on the bus though but I've spotted a few fiver returns to Darlo on East Coast

X24 has been changed so it no longer clashes with the GNE X22 which is a good idea.
One other thing, does anyone know where the short working X2 that does Low Fell - Newcastle at 08:46 comes from? Its a School Day only service but it seems' a bit odd to stick the nicer equipment on there, on a school run

I'm probably wrong but the 878 scholars service from my school, Cardinal Hume, is operated by Arriva and arrives at about 8:35am. That gives the bus (a 61 reg Wright Pulsar 2) enough time to get to Low Fell to start its service to Newcastle.
