(04 Jan 2020, 9:30 pm)Metroline1511 I had missed news of the replacement of Hexham bus station before I came to the area in 2017. I was therefore surprised not to recognise it and to be a little way out of the town centre. I did get to see the site of the old bus station a bit later.

I don’t think it’s too bad to be honest.

I quite like the new location and consider it to be more centrally based; whilst it’s a little further away from the shops in the town centre, it’s much closer to the hospital, and a bit closer to the rail station and the shops around that area.

The facilities are a vast improvement and it’s much better for space for the buses. No more awkward reverse manoeuvres!
