September 2020 Go North East Following the upgrade of this vehicle from Euro 5 to SCRT Euro 6, it has returned to Chester-le-Street Depot.
June 2020 Go North East Photograph by From Monday 1 June 2020, in line with guidance from the government, Go North East's bus services will start returning to what can be considered a 'normal' level of service on weekdays (albeit still reduced on weekends), also with some minor changes which had originally been planned to take place from 17 May 2020. As such, this vehicle has now been reinstated at Riverside.
April 2020 Go North East Following completion of all required vehicle re-allocations; this vehicle has been temporarily withdrawn from service due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and has been officially delicensed (SORN'd), enabling Go North East to obtain a tax refund.
February 2020 Go North East In partnership with Gateshead Council; this vehicle has received exhaust modifications, increasing the Euro standard of this bus from Euro 5 to Euro 6.
September 2019 Go North East Photograph by This vehicle has transferred from Chester-le-Street Depot to Riverside. At Riverside, this vehicle should see primary allocation to services 67/69. This transfer has taken place due to contract changes resulting in services 67/69 at Riverside requiring Euro 5 emission vehicles. Once similar Optare Versa 8307 - 8309 are fitted with Euro 6 SCRTs, this vehicle will return to Chester-le-Street.
June 2019 Go North East Following temporary loan to Percy Main Depot, this vehicle has now returned to service at Chester-le-Street.
June 2019 Go North East Due to a high extra vehicle requirement in order to operate cruise ship shuttle services, this vehicle has transferred from Chester-le-Street Depot to Percy Main on temporary loan.
February 2019 Go North East Photograph by This vehicle has transferred from Riverside Depot to Chester-le-Street, following completion of the investigation of the incident which took place back in December 2018.
December 2018 Go North East Photograph by This vehicle has transferred from Chester-le-Street Depot to Riverside, on a temporary basis, in exchange for Optare Versa V1170/Optare 5389 (NL63 YAX) which is now at Chester-le-Street. The temporary exchange has taken place due to 5389 (NL63 YAX) being involved in an incident. While the investigation is ongoing, it has been moved away from the area.
November 2018 Go North East To allow greater flexibility of the Optare Versa allocations at Chester-le-Street Depot, the "See it, Do it, Sunderland" brand is being removed from the 36 service, following in the footsteps of the removal of the "Lambton Worm" brand from services 34/34A earlier this year. As such this vehicle has now been repainted into Go North East's corporate livery. This example carries the tagline "Our buses run 35 million miles a year - that's like going to the moon and back 72 times".
June 2017 Go North East Photograph by This vehicle has received "See it, Do it, Sunderland" branding, with sub-branding for service 36 (Chester-le-Street - Castletown).
June 2017 Go North East Photograph by In line with the operation of "See it, Do it, Sunderland" service 36 transferring from Deptford Depot to Chester-le-Street, this vehicle has also transferred to Chester-le-Street. Presently unbranded, they are due to receive "See it, Do it, Sunderland" branding imminently, with minor branding amendments. As a consequence, the existing "See it, Do it, Sunderland" branded Mercedes Citaros have temporarily taken up revised allocations at Deptford Depot. Service 61 will be allocated "See it, Do it" branded Mercedes Citaros, and one board on service 9 will be allocated a "See it, Do it" branded Mercedes Citaro, displacing one fleet livery Scania L94 to operate "SimpliCity" services 2/2A.
May 2017 Go North East Photograph by Having previously carried "SimpliCity" branding, this vehicle has been repainted into a plain blue base livery. From Saturday 3rd June 2017, the operation of "See it, Do it, Sunderland" service 36 will transfer from Deptford Depot to Chester-le-Street. As Chester-le-Street do not have any Mercedes Citaros at the moment; service 36 will instead be allocated Optare Versas in a new blue base livery (albeit with amendments to the branding), which will standardise the vehicle types at each depot.
April 2016 Go North East Photograph by Ahead of upcoming service changes, due to commence from Sunday 22nd May 2016, which will see "SimpliCity" service 2 reduced to a 15-minute frequency, this vehicle has had the frequency on the cant rail revised to reflect the new frequency.
May 2015 Go North East As a new Next Stop Announcement programme for the revised 2/2A services was not created following the service revisions earlier this year, this vehicle has lost its Next Stop Announcement kit. These kits have instead been fitted to the "The Orbit" branded vehicles at Riverside Depot ahead of service changes in July, which will see "QuayLink" service Q1 merged with "The Orbit" services 51/52.
February 2015 Go North East Photograph by Following service revisions in Sunderland last month which saw a number of changes to service and consequent re-allocations, this vehicle has gained "SimpliCity" branding, with sub-branding for services 2/2A.

July 2011 Go North East Photograph by This vehicle has entered service at Deptford Depot on "SimpliCity" service 36. The new service, aimed at making things easier for people living in Sunderland, launches on Monday 4th July 2017 and, until 9th July, passengers can try it completely free of charge. The company says, "there's no need for a timetable as new buses will be along every ten minutes and passengers are also guaranteed the best prices for their journeys when they jump on board." As part of the company's commitment to providing a better quality service in Sunderland, Go North East will also offer a refund guarantee, if for some reason within Go North East’s control, a customer's journey is delayed by 20 minutes or more.
July 2011 Go North East Prior to entering service, this vehicle has received "SimpliCity" branding. "SimpliCity" is a new brand designed to promote Go North East's services which make life easier for people living in Sunderland. The brand will be rolled out in two parts, with the first being initally launched on a new bus service, numbered 36, which will operate on Monday to Saturday during the day, serving people living in the communities of Town End Farm, Downhill, Hylton Red House, Witherwack, Marley Potts, High Southwick, Carley Hill, Low Southwick, Monkwearmouth and Sunderland City Centre. The second part, expected to follow later this month following delivery of further new vehicles, will see the existing 42 service upgraded to new Optare Versas.
July 2011 Go North East This vehicle, which carries a purple base livery, has arrived into the Go North East fleet. It features audio-visual Next Stop Announcements, and is currently being prepared for service at Saltmeadows Road Depot. Once prepared for service, it is expected to be allocated to Deptford Depot.
