This one is creeping up on us, and I noticed that we don't have a thread!
The Durham Vintage Bus Gathering will be held on Sunday 18th June 2017, at the Howlands Park and Ride site in Durham.
Howlands is located a short walk from the New Inn pub, and can be reached by the Arriva North East 6 or Go North East's X21 service. There will also be a shuttle bus service between North Road in Durham and the rally site. The first shuttle leaves at 1000, and will run every 15 minutes thereafter, according to the timetable on the NEBPT website.
Driver only operation / one man operation on the railway is a bit of a hot topic at the moment, so it surprises me that we haven't got a thread. It has of course been the reason for several strikes on the TSGN franchise, Northern and others. ASLEF have tried to sell a deal to their members twice, and the other union, the RMT, appear to be fundamentally against it.
