RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Cock Robin - 07 Feb 2015 (06 Feb 2015, 9:16 pm)tyresmoke Too much wasted resource to operate what is effectively a dupe of the 27A. 27A every 10 mins would be far better received. More cuts in orther words! Hardly a dup when they go different routes! RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - RobinHood - 07 Feb 2015 (07 Feb 2015, 12:57 pm)Cock Robin More cuts in orther words! Hardly a dup when they go different routes! By the looks of it, the new options are at worst the same amount of buses as now, maybe even one more. Hardly cuts... RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - tyresmoke - 07 Feb 2015 (07 Feb 2015, 12:57 pm)Cock Robin More cuts in orther words! Hardly a dup when they go different routes! The only bit they serve differently is Cranmore Road (which would potentially be covered by 5/5A) and the 2 stops on College Road (which nobody ever uses) - meanwhile the 27A struggled with the loadings. I'd be interested to see how many people switch their shopping from Morrisons to Asda if we linked Netherfields with Asda with the 8/9! RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Jimmi - 10 Feb 2015 On VOSA today. EDIT: Doesn't matter, I didn't read it properly. I've always said they should combine the 3 and 553 together, so I am happy to see this happening RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - omnicity4659 - 10 Feb 2015 (10 Feb 2015, 5:55 pm)Tom I'm gathering another operator is taking this over? I never knew there was a 3 (unless that's Nexusbus?). Something is making me say that the 3 once went to Blyth? (Only because of 1 & 2, makes me think there was a 3 to Blyth) RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Tom - 10 Feb 2015 (10 Feb 2015, 6:30 pm)Tommy_1581 I never knew there was a 3 (unless that's Nexusbus?). Something is making me say that the 3 once went to Blyth? (Only because of 1 & 2, makes me think there was a 3 to Blyth) Yes it is. RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Michael - 20 Feb 2015 PB0002032/364 - ARRIVA NORTHUMBRIA LTD, 1 ADMIRAL WAY, DOXFORD INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS PARK, SUNDERLAND, SR3 3XP Variation Accepted: Operating between Four Lane Ends and Walker given service number 18/18A effective from 19-Apr-2015. PB0002717/238 - ARRIVA DURHAM COUNTY LTD, 1 ADMIRAL WAY, DOXFORD INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS PARK, SUNDERLAND, SR3 3XP Variation Accepted: Operating between Durham and Newcastle given service number X12 effective from 19-Apr-2015. To amend Route and Timetable. RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Jimmi - 20 Feb 2015 (20 Feb 2015, 11:12 am)Michael PB0002717/54 - ARRIVA DURHAM COUNTY LTD, 1 ADMIRAL WAY, DOXFORD INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS PARK, SUNDERLAND, SR3 3XP Interesting looking registrations: 75/76 (X75/X76?) will probably be going back to regular routes soon as the landslip works at Calbury should be finished soon. Also heard rumours for a while that the 75/76 were going to become MAX routes and it's looking a bit more likely now. Wonder if the routes will change anymore? Wonder if Arriva are dropping the X2 number and running it as the X12 through to Newcastle based on this registration? Or could it just be how it's been registered on VOSA? RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Kuyoyo - 20 Feb 2015 (20 Feb 2015, 11:42 am)Jimmi Interesting looking registrations: X75/X76 is looking likely the 75/76 renumbered to suit the MAX upgrade. X2 renumbered X12 - given the recent clarification of the regulations around split services, it's not surprising to see this one happening. RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Jimmi - 20 Feb 2015 (20 Feb 2015, 11:46 am)Kuyoyo X75/X76 is looking likely the 75/76 renumbered to suit the MAX upgrade. If this is the case with the X12/X2 it's a pity they couldn't have just made the whole route have the X2 as it's service number, although they wouldn't do this now after just renumbering the X1 as the X12. RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Michael - 20 Feb 2015 (20 Feb 2015, 11:46 am)Kuyoyo X75/X76 is looking likely the 75/76 renumbered to suit the MAX upgrade. I didn't know the 75/76 were getting MAX, its a good move, will the services be getting Pulsers, as i'm sure the current 75/76 uses Solo's? RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Jimmi - 20 Feb 2015 (20 Feb 2015, 12:34 pm)Michael I didn't know the 75/76 were getting MAX, its a good move, will the services be getting Pulsers, as i'm sure the current 75/76 uses Solo's? At the moment the current allocation seems to be two Solos and a Pulsar, I think the reason why Solos are currently being used is because Darlington is short on full size single deckers and the Pulsars are needed on the 1/5/5A and X1 which are busier than the 75/76 is. RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Michael - 20 Feb 2015 (20 Feb 2015, 12:39 pm)Jimmi At the moment the current allocation seems to be two Solos and a Pulsar, I think the reason why Solos are currently being used is because Darlington is short on full size single deckers and the Pulsars are needed on the 1/5/5A and X1 which are busier than the 75/76 is. Hmm, every time iv'e seen the 75/76 in Barnard Castle they've being quiet...don't think they would make the SOLO's MAX RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Jimmi - 20 Feb 2015 (20 Feb 2015, 12:42 pm)Michael Hmm, every time iv'e seen the 75/76 in Barnard Castle they've being quiet...don't think they would make the SOLO's MAX I never really use or see the 75/76 but I think it's one of them services that are busy at peak times but quieter during the daytime. RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Cock Robin - 20 Feb 2015 (20 Feb 2015, 11:51 am)Jimmi If this is the case with the X12/X2 it's a pity they couldn't have just made the whole route have the X2 as it's service number, although they wouldn't do this now after just renumbering the X1 as the X12. Good job they haven't done the branding yet! RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Andreos1 - 20 Feb 2015 What are the cross Durham links like these days on the X12/X2? Only done it a few times myself, but from what I have seen, passengers seem to treat it as a separate service - going as far as Durham in either direction. / Does the service really need to be one long one, under two numbers - or could it be worked, so that it is two different services? RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Jimmi - 20 Feb 2015 (20 Feb 2015, 2:13 pm)Andreos1 What are the cross Durham links like these days on the X12/X2? I think many see it as two different services and get off in Durham but from what I've seen there are some who stay on after Durham especially New College students who jump on at Framwellgate Moor and stay on after Durham Bus Station to the likes of Bowburn and Croxdale. RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Kuyoyo - 20 Feb 2015 (20 Feb 2015, 2:13 pm)Andreos1 What are the cross Durham links like these days on the X12/X2? Arriva did look at spliting them into 2 separate services a few years back - with the then-X1 running up to Framwellgate Moor for the University. In the end, it was decided not to. The return to a single number throughout with just a change of destination may help RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Andreos1 - 20 Feb 2015 (20 Feb 2015, 2:27 pm)Jimmi I think many see it as two different services and get off in Durham but from what I've seen there are some who stay on after Durham especially New College students who jump on at Framwellgate Moor and stay on after Durham Bus Station to the likes of Bowburn and Croxdale.Yeah, thought there may have been a couple - which ties in with what Kuyoyo has said below. (20 Feb 2015, 2:32 pm)Kuyoyo Arriva did look at spliting them into 2 separate services a few years back - with the then-X1 running up to Framwellgate Moor for the University. In the end, it was decided not to. Do you mean the college at Fram? It was more to do with the marketing/branding perspective as well as improving timings. Appreciate there are short runs, but wondered if it would be better if they were split completely. |
