RE: Scarlet Band Motors - Jimmi - 17 Sep 2015

(17 Sep 2015, 6:16 am)jaimzm Y236LRR Optare Solo was on 58 this Morning and yesterday MX55WCZ Green Solo was on 58

I'm going to hazard a guess these will have both been on the extra morning working of the 58 which then drops onto the 110/111/112 circuit after it arrives in Durham, I saw green Our Bus branded Solo in Woodham working the Newton Aycliffe schools service 879 yesterday afternoon which also runs off the 110/111/112.

Yep, I didn't notice either through the day. I'm usually alerted to something different than the usual E200s by the engine noise up the hill!

(16 Sep 2015, 3:23 pm)Dan Haha!

You can see the remains of the 'Malta Public Transport' logo on the black part.

I went to Malta recently and I could swear I saw it
The Quaylinks have that problem mainly 8310-8318

RE: Scarlet Band Motors - BusLoverMum - 02 Oct 2015

The new-ish solo from Malta has been doing the rounds on the 58 for the past few days. Big'un has been obsessively keeping track of it, of course.

RE: Scarlet Band Motors - jaimzm - 05 Oct 2015

Optare Solo SR KX14FHT was on the service 58 this morning was on round about 8 38 am in hartlepool

Seems to have become a fixture. That's 4 or 5 days in a row, now.

Though MX10 DXL has been back on the 58 for the first time in a while.

I must use it at some point!!!!!
I used it creepily in Malta, the DDA laws about destination displays I don't think are very harsh

Well NX55 FFS (how apt) is trundling around the 58 route, today. The rear (roller) blind is displaying 16, with a bit of the 9 showing.

One issue is most Scarlet Band drivers will not usually put anything on the side and rear roller blinds, they are normally just left blank, but the regular driver on the 16 usually puts the 16 on the side and rear blinds, saw the ex Nottingham Solo showing the 16 on its rear blind on the 16 the other week.

I wonder how that would go down in the new year, when the rules tighten up.

You can display any number so long as it's 16.

From January many Scarlet Band buses will not be DDA compliant because the service number is displayed on the incorrect side on most of the front LED screens and then there is the lacking of appropriate side destination equipment.

Good photo Jimmi

Last time I was at their garage there were 2 minibuses in all over white.

Does anyone know if these have been repainted yet?

Charles

The new to them solo was still white the last time it passed us. If you're counting the E200s, most of them are still white, apart from MX10 KNW

Thanks Charles

Not sure which "minibuses" you are referring to Charles, but the Solos seem to be getting repainted into the fleet livery at the moment, at least one of the two 06 reg examples have been done recently and as I noted yesterday the ex JSB Travel Solo MX56NME has now been done as well. Hopefully the only service buses that should not in the standard Scarlet Band livery (excluding service 16, 20, Durham Park & Ride Solo SR's and the special 90th anniversary Solo) should hopefully be YN04LWM and four out of the five Enviro 200s and here's hoping they get done to. Also hope YN04LWM also gets an LED screen, sick of the destination blind only saying "SERVICE" on the 113.
