RE: Scotland Bus Operations - S813 FVK - 31 Mar 2015

(31 Mar 2015, 2:24 pm)Adam Very similar to the red tops on the 26. I'm sure I read somewhere that one reason Lothian paint the top of the buses is so that customers can identify services coming along the often congested Princes Street.

Its identical (apart from the number and colour obviously). Still rather poor. Plus you have all those unbranded services that go along princes street...

If only. It looks really nice.

RE: Scotland Bus Operations - mb134 - 07 Apr 2015

I'm in and around Edinburgh this week, and just went to ASDA for some petrol, and when I arrived 5 buses, all on different services from what I could tell, were all sitting there, unbelievable bus service, don't think you'd catch ANE, GNE or SNE sending 5 buses to a Supermarket at the same time!

(21 Mar 2015, 10:55 pm)Robert Not as exciting as the previous livery but... https://flic.kr/p/rBCX76

Much to the surprise of most, the extravagant branding has returned!

Quite odd that Lothian painted that batch of Vehicles into Madder and Weiss with Red Tops, to then put the Zoo Branding over the Top.

(08 Apr 2015, 6:44 pm)Malarkey Quite odd that Lothian painted that batch of Vehicles into Madder and Weiss with Red Tops, to then put the Zoo Branding over the Top.

But baring in mind those vehicles have been running around with just a red top for a number of months (possibly even a couple of years?), it would be stupid to just paint the red top and leave the rest as it was.

Park's of Hamilton have been getting a number of new coaches in their 2015 order... with the sale of several 2011 and 2012 models. The KSK950/1/2/3 Elites on National Express work (they run the 534 through the North East) look set to be replaced very soon. The first two Leopards are now in the fleet, albeit 70 seaters so unlikely to appear on express coach work.

I've attached a latest fleet list that I've worked on... Not in the best format but it'll do for now I guess!

Park's run the National Express 534 service (among many others) and also duplicate the Megabus M20 service many days of the week.

Didn't last long, mind.

Park's tend to sell things on a 3 year rotation, though the service spec coaches tend to be on 4 years (the first Citylink Gold Elite's lasted 5 years!)

Lothian Buses have as a Result of recent Service Changes Withdrawn Volvo B7RLEs 107(SN04 NGX) and 108(SN04 NGY)

107 - https://www.flickr.com/photos/122507681@N02/17267291861/
108 - https://www.flickr.com/photos/122507681@N02/17082438659/

They are being Stored at Marine Depot along with a few other similar Examples, seems odd they are Withdrawing Vehicles which are only 11 Years Old.

RE: Scotland Bus Operations - Andreos1 - 28 Apr 2015

Someone is expecting an imminent delivery of ex-Lothian Darts.

I saw four heading south on the A1 at Doncaster (always Donny) a few hours back.

Didn't manage to catch id's, but it looked like all corporate livery had been removed - apart from a couple, that had some 'green', on the bodywork behind the drivers cab.
Not sure if this is the remnants of an advert or promotional stuff.

The same Eminox Euro engine modifications as older Go North East vehicles have, if my memory serves...

Believe Ensign have taken quite a few of Lothian's Darts.

I didn't notice either way to be honest.
It was getting dark, I was getting tired and it was at speed seeing them.

Few have went to Ipswich Bus via Hants & Dorset Trims also.

RE: Scotland Bus Operations - Adrian - 30 Apr 2015

I noticed two of Lothian's Presidents seem to have 'hybrid' destination screens. White LED destination and route number, with a traditional blind for the calling points.
