Doesn’t the son own the land and asking about 1 and a half million in rent which put off possible takeover, before it went into admin there was a possible takeover but the buyer wanted to purchase the land with the business but there weren’t prepared to sell the land

If you believe what is said on the news then yes, that is exactly what happened.

The Wright family said that isn't what happened, but we know how trustworthy they are now

Apparently there are 2 bidders for Wrightbus, one from England and one from the US.

I would have thought ADL might be interested, but they're Scottish not English and owned by the Canadians not the Americans

Even if ADL were interested, I couldn't see the CMA allowing it to happen.

Another Update:

According to Unite the Union, there are apparently now 4 bidders interested one from the UK, one from China, and two from the EU. Either the previous report was wrong (it was from an MP, so it was probably wrong), or the US company has pulled out.

Looks like any chance of a deal is gone, seems to me like Mr Wright is playing the victim here[Image: 5131914d2e0738ca6bbbb8bcf1578657.jpg]

Statement from Jo Bamford.

I genuinely think Wright wants it to go into liquidation[Image: 87e98e1c1b316e8696589f754755ca85.jpg]

I wonder if GNE will be able to claim back some of the additional costs of not having the StreetDecks on time. I assume not since they went into administration and would now legally be an independent company

Airport contract goes to another firm - who aren't coach builders by trade.

That is probably a good thing to be honest, that means that they can focus on building GNE's StreetDecks!

I had to wait for 3 buses today to get a StreetDeck on the X21!

I don't think that's very true; you would have missed quite a lot in the space of 90 minutes just by not wanting a spare bus. You could have travelled to Durham and got the 21 which has plenty of StreetDecks...

I wasn't travelling in that direction, I was just wanting to go down to Tindale. Plus, I wasn't in any rush so I just waited.

A StreetDeck is a rare sight on the X21 these days, it wouldn't bother me so much if every other bus was a spare, but there was an OmniCity, OmniDekka and a B7 all in a row. Not what I would expect for an X lines service!
