(14 Mar 2015, 7:16 am)citaro5284 I doubt it, but they may modify the vehicle to make it DDA spec.  I think Dan posted some links to companies which are doing this mods.

DDA mods to T and V reg bangers - unlikely with Stagecoach Wink

Great news to hear, Stagecoach are doing a good job with this Gold service. Sapphire/ Max is not as majestic in my opinion

Wouldnt mind seeing a Gold Service here in North East, would say Services 62/63 in Newcastle would be good candidates, as would the 685 but that just got New Vehicles.

Agree with you here, everything about Gold looks better, from the seats to the colour scheme, to the engine/ chassis choices (Davey Wink )

Right................

Can people please stop asking where these buses are going - I don't know. I'm merely speculating where the Solos might be going. People are going to have to wait until the Stagecoach UK Fleetbook 2015 is published to find out where everything is going..................

Rode Gold in Oxford and Max in Northumberland (not done Sapphire yet) and there isn't much between them to be honest.
If the engines had been updrated like the Metrobuses and OK Olympians had done, to give them some oomph, then maybe I would have been more impressed.

Having never rode Gold myself, just going off pictures, I thought that the seating looked far superior to that of Sapphire and MAX, as does the colour schemes, however I know pictures can be deceiving. As I've no idea, does Gold have Next Stop Announcements?

The shape of the seat makes them far superior. I'm not a huge fan of e-leather seating, but the seats on Stagecoach Gold ADL Enviro400s are really quite comfortable. Off memory (was a long time since I last sampled the X4 at Peterborough), the provision of power sockets is not offered, but the Wi-Fi service was very good and seemed quite fast indeed.

The brand is consistent - no matter which depot the service operates out of. Much better than the offering around our parts...

The seating has a special section on their website - http://www.stagecoachgold.com/comfortable-seats.aspx

Despite whatever ergonomics are on offer, I prefer something soft and relaxing to sit in. Leather or e-leather just doesn't do it for me, whether it be on the plane or on a bus.
When the vehicles on the X84/85 were on the 20's, I loved sitting on the seats. They were lovely and comfy.
It is interesting to note, the budget and charter airlines have been using 'leather' for a few years now.

I never noticed or paid attention to next stop announcements to be honest.
Sat down, plugged my earphones in and watched the world go by, until it was my stop.

I have done the S1 and S2 in Oxfordshire a few times now, but will have a look next time I use them to see what the next stop arrangements are.
