(25 Mar 2023, 7:19 am)Dan Joint ticketing is already in place with DFDS. Tickets are sold by DFDS on the ship.

Is this a recent thing?

Not sure I've ever seen or heard anything about it at all on either of the ships.

It would be interesting to see what the take up actually is.

Been in place for a year or two now.

DFDS is building back up now (with their patronage up to now being down massively in comparison to pre-Covid), so hopefully the joint ticketing will be more widely publicised this year.

Really good video! Any plans for where this will be used?

It's the kind of thing that'd be equally as effective looped on displays with high footfall.

That video gives me major GCSE Media Studies vibes.
I'm guessing it was done in house?

It looks quite similar to work done by Ithaca films, who tend to use that mundane free canva soundtrack a lot.

Mindboggling that ToonTour is supposedly better than far more frequent, higher quality (newer vehicles etc) operations elsewhere in the country.

You say that but God dammit Transdev have made use of the accolade of 'Most Scenic Bus Route' for promotion of the 840 to Whitby despite having lost in other showdowns of these polls since which happen every few months.

Given the Toon Tour isn't above 4 on Trip Advisor (4.2 and above is seen as the golden number), it's got to take any good publicity it can.....

Publicity that the public see's, or some meaningless back patting from the enthusiast community, that the public won't see, unless GNE advertise the fact they've had the enthusiast back-patting?

I suppose the Chronicle is only read by bus enthusiasts, so this publicity will do them no good.

FROM GNE ENTHUSIAST AREA

'Repaints last week included open-top format Volvo B9TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 6996 (LIG 9116) into Toon Tour livery.'

Must of acquired this from Oxford, wonder if there is going to be another?

Oxford did have 2 of them. They were new to Go-Ahead London but were sold out of the group to City Tours, London and were then acquired by the Oxford Bus Company. Remains to be seen if there is just going to be the two of them and any subsitutes will be closed top B9TLs (6101 mainly).

Ive seen other open tops on the market, they could have purchased those as spares.

Presumably an internal transfer from another Go-Ahead subsidiary would be better value than buying from outside of the Group.
