(06 Dec 2023, 11:18 am)Andreos1 It makes sense to cater for the majority and if theres a flow to and from the town for the Newcastle game in addition to any shoppers heading to and from the sales, then they would be daft to ignore it.

It's an early kick off too, so should be interesting to see how busy services are on the morning.

It's the first time a lot of Washington has had a bus (areas 84/85 serve), but I think you'll get a decent amount heading to the Galleries or whatever for sales. It's normally quite busy over there on Boxing Day.

(05 Dec 2023, 3:53 pm)idiot Ahh back in the 19th Century with no buses after 7pm on 24th and 31st.
In the 19th Centrury there were virtually no buses at all unless you count the ones being pulled by horses or being propelled by steam.

No 60 this year for Boxing Day, seems the 39 is a replacement? I’m not sure they usually run a 39 on Boxing Day? So is Chester Le Street the only part of County Durham getting a service?

Does anyone know/have any ideas what GNE are likely to put on their services and the Arriva routes they are covering? Phoenix will presumably have the same deckers as last year on the X21?

Despite the Saturday timetables, Pleased to see Stagecoach operating their 22X during the festive break. That will help those colleagues choosing to work from the office get in pretty quickly.

telling how busy the 22X is vs the X39, looks like SNE have retained the customers from the strike

In terms of arriva they’ve got 43, X10/X11 & X18/X21/X22

I'm sure GNE ran route 27 on Boxing Day a couple of years ago.

Maybe they see little commercial point if the Metro is running that day.

I can say with fair confidence that all these will be empty all day. As no-one uses the Nexus website in Northumberland as to put it polite it's crap, Northumberland Council haven't announced them anywhere and Arriva have boxing day down as no service.

Complete mess, as per usual.

Don’t Northumberland County Council rely on Nexus for their bus service publicity?
