Why? What benefit do you get from them that you don't from the Yutongs, which GNE already have a fleet of?

Having tried both, I'd say the Yutong is the better bus from a passenger perspective. It feels to perform better. When that Merc demo was here, it spent more time off the road than on.

Yes, you said.  But Adrian then posted some reasons why GNE might be better off with Yutongs, and you merely repeated your opinion - perhaps provide some rationale as to WHY you think that Mercs are the way forward?

The MCV Evora Volvo B8RLEs are fine single decked vehicles and would make good replacement for the Versa or older Streetlites (or Stagecoach E200s for that matter).

Very spacious inside for customers, nimble to drive and a proper sounding engine!

Probably this generations Citaro to be honest.

It needs something like that. The last lot of Citaros ordered was back in 2013 now for the 4, so later this year, they'll be older than the Scania L94s were at the time they were replaced.

Can you still buy a diesel Citaro?

None have been registered in the UK since 2022, according to Bus Lists On The Web.

I've been on the eCitaro, it didn't make much noise apart from a slight whine.

So because you can't see very well from like 4 seats, out the front window but fine out of every thing else. The rear facing front seats and wheelchair bay shouldn't have access to this info?
I feel like they could've put a smaller display more in the corner. But it is a necessary evil imo.

A lot of love for the Citaro diesel on here. As a former driver I can say they were awful to drive and very temperamental. Arrivas Pulsars were are far superior bus to drive. Not sure if the cab layout of the electric version is better though.

Doesn't/didn't (delete as appropriate) Go Ahead have a plan to be all hydrogen and/or electric by a certain date? If so and coupled with the loss making situation I'd guess that the only buses GNE (not alternatively powered) will receive will be preloved from either Manchester or London.

Still plenty Diesels being ordered, Manchester has just had 50+ Enviro 200 MMC's in the past few months and I believe there's been a massive order at one of the South Coast divisions aswell.

As a passenger I hated getting the Citaro, at least post-refurb.

Seats were awful, no padding at all.
More creaky than an E400 and more rattly than a Versa.
The ride wasn't particularly good either, I'd expect better for a Merc
