(19 Jul 2019, 5:00 pm)Kuyoyo Very much in the public domain now despite no official word from the company - Stagecarriage have ceased trading as of earlier today
It’s a shame but I could see that coming from the moment they re-branded
(19 Jul 2019, 7:21 pm)S830OFT What's happening with service X8 now then?
Should be taken over by another operator I imagine. Another independent if not the council if I had to make a guess.
(19 Jul 2019, 9:56 pm)S830OFTFull route was operated on a commercial basis, services to/from Stillington haven't been contracted since April 2014 when the council pulled the plug on all subsidised routes (was Arriva service 6 up until that point)
The Stillington to Stockton section is contracted I believe, as it used to operate as service 84...

How come? What about the re-brand?
Just had a bit of a feeling that something could have been going on internally hence they rebranded as Bus4

From what I've heard they may have only let some drivers go with a few staying on. Seems like they're just trying to slim the company down to a point where it can't operate. I expect a few more twists to this saga.

I've heard a few various rumours and like most things, I take them with a pinch of salt.
However if cash flow is tight and school contracts have came to an end for the summer, then I can see why a surplus of staff may have been trimmed.
Whether I agree with that sort of strategy is another matter.
Regardless, it is a shame that a company who looked to be on the up and demonstrated some ambition, have hit some sort of buffer.
