It's the only frequency that I know! Probably from all the car journeys we had up to Seahouses listening to Sue Sweeney!
I also remember 105.4 Century FM, but I think we stopped listening to that when it switched to Real Radio. I believe it's now Heart and on different frequency?

I rarely listen to the radio these days, other than when we have TFM/Metro on in the car, but we usually play it over Bluetooth anyway!
I remember switching from Galaxy/Capital back in the day when Steve and Karen left. They're the only radio presenters I can stand listening to, but maybe that's because I've literally been listening to them my whole life!

(21 Nov 2022, 12:17 am)Andreos1 Not a little known fact, but definitely an oddity.

There will be a generation of people who don't and won't know radio frequencies.
Whether it be because of DAB or something else.

95.4 FM
97.1 FM
97-99 FM

252 LW

1089 MW
1152 MW
1215 MW
909 MW

Almost ingrained in my memory.

Long wave radio Atlantic 252 that's a blast from the past.

For a time in the 90s I remember it being very popular helped by not having to change frequency when travelling longer distances.

Back when they moved to Metro, they had more creative control over what they did. I remember "take one for your town" was done over both Galaxy and Metro.

Now they have to conform to the Hits Radio schedule which is quite shit.

"Local Radio" as a concept is pretty much dead now, almost everything on FM at least is networked across the country aside from the odd show here and there and even those aren't really any different from one another across the country.

I vaguely remember frequencies for the North East stations although mine differed from the above as it lined up with Teesside rather than Newcastle,

96.6FM - TFM (think Metro was 97.1FM?)
100.7FM - Century > Real > Heart
103.2FM - Alfa 103.2 > Star Radio
1170MW - Magic 1170

Another buried in my mind from family holidays in Blackpool is 96.5FM which was Wave 96.5 > Radio Wave (now Greatest Hits Radio).

This could be another reason. Other than DAB and Spotify!
