RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Michael - 30 Mar 2015 (30 Mar 2015, 8:14 pm)Dan Haha, let's just wait for the uproar on Facebook where people say they've been waiting around for ages. Metro Replacement has being sorted... 900 between East Boldon and South Hylton... probs be GNE. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Adrian - 30 Mar 2015 I'm sure I've asked before, but does anyone know where the responsibility lies to arrange a replacement bus service? Is it with the contractor (i.e. DBTW), or is it with Nexus as the owner? Seeing as DBTW are contracted to run the Metro on behalf of Nexus, I'd assume it's down to them, but that's nothing more than a 50/50 guess! RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Dan - 30 Mar 2015 (30 Mar 2015, 8:43 pm)Michael Metro Replacement has being sorted... 900 between East Boldon and South Hylton... probs be GNE. Well, 40 minutes... Not quite an hour! GNE did it yesterday with 6099, 6100 and two B7s from Washington iirc. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Malarkey - 30 Mar 2015 (30 Mar 2015, 8:05 pm)Michael Oh dear....once again...I Nexus keep on turning it off to save money as they are currently raiding the piggy bank for shrapnel, Think its time someone else took over the Metro and its Day 2 Day Operations as this is beyond a Joke, Watch the whole Network will be down on 01/04/2016. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Dan - 30 Mar 2015 (30 Mar 2015, 8:55 pm)Malarkey I Nexus keep on turning it off to save money as they are currently raiding the piggy bank for shrapnel, Think its time someone else took over the Metro and its Day 2 Day Operations as this is beyond a Joke, Watch the whole Network will be down on 01/04/2016. But it's never a joke, nor prank! RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Adrian - 30 Mar 2015 (30 Mar 2015, 8:53 pm)citaro5284 I thought I had replied as I think I got pulled up by saying Nexus Control Room....it is the guys & girls in South Gosforth Control, so DB. Cheers My memory is like a sieve most of the time! RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Adrian - 30 Mar 2015 (30 Mar 2015, 8:55 pm)Malarkey I Nexus keep on turning it off to save money as they are currently raiding the piggy bank for shrapnel, Think its time someone else took over the Metro and its Day 2 Day Operations as this is beyond a Joke, Watch the whole Network will be down on 01/04/2016. 7 year contract with a two year option wasn't it? If the two year option of an extension is taken, I'd expect to hear about it in the next few months, as there's a lengthy tender process to start otherwise! I wonder if a Go-Ahead consortium will go for it? Seeing as they're running it most of the time anyway. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Dan - 30 Mar 2015 (30 Mar 2015, 9:01 pm)aureolin 7 year contract with a two year option wasn't it? If the two year option of an extension is taken, I'd expect to hear about it in the next few months, as there's a lengthy tender process to start otherwise! When did the contract start? Second bit made me laugh! RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Adrian - 30 Mar 2015 (30 Mar 2015, 9:02 pm)Dan When did the contract start? 2009 rings a bell, and would tie in with Malarkey saying 2016. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Malarkey - 30 Mar 2015 (30 Mar 2015, 9:03 pm)aureolin 2009 rings a bell, and would tie in with Malarkey saying 2016. Yeah ermmm Malarkey ballsed up on the date aureolin, was meant to be 01/04/2015 rather than 2016, referencing April Fools Day and the entire Network being down. You give Adam too much credit... RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Adrian - 30 Mar 2015 http://www.railwaygazette.com/news/single-view/view/db-takes-over-tyne-wear-metro.html Started April 1st 2010, so it'll end April 1st 2017. It feels like it's been a long 5 years! RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - MurdnunoC - 30 Mar 2015 (30 Mar 2015, 9:09 pm)aureolin http://www.railwaygazette.com/news/single-view/view/db-takes-over-tyne-wear-metro.html Seven years is an exceptionally long five year period But then again 2+2=5. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Malarkey - 30 Mar 2015 (30 Mar 2015, 9:09 pm)aureolin http://www.railwaygazette.com/news/single-view/view/db-takes-over-tyne-wear-metro.htmlCredit where credit is due, although I mucked up on the date in my post, I was still only a Year off and atleast I got part of the Date correct which is totally coincidental as I hadnt a foggy when the contract started. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Malarkey - 30 Mar 2015 Think Nexus need to dish out some more Sunflower Seeds to reawaken our Community Pride in the Metro System . RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - idiot - 30 Mar 2015 I feel sorry for DB im a way they get a lot of blame for ageing trains on social media etc RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Dan - 31 Mar 2015 Don't know if it's still the same problem as last night, but the Metro I usually catch is delayed this morning. The one after it is, too, as it's not yet on the boards and it usually pops up when it departs South Hylton. Towards South Hylton, the arrivals are both said to be due in 9 minutes. Crazy. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Tom - 31 Mar 2015 (31 Mar 2015, 6:04 am)Dan Don't know if it's still the same problem as last night, but the Metro I usually catch is delayed this morning. The one after it is, too, as it's not yet on the boards and it usually pops up when it departs South Hylton. Yeah it is the same problem: ''There are delays of up to 25 mins to training running between Pelaw and South Hylton due to a problem with the power supply Please leave extra time for your journey.'' RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Tom - 31 Mar 2015 Update: Due to a problem with the Overhead Power Supply on Network Rail, Metro will be running a reduced service between Pelaw and South Hylton of approx 30 minutes until futher notice. RE: Tyne and Wear Metro - Michael - 31 Mar 2015 So i'm already running late, was gonna get the metro to Heworth then the 4 to College... think ill just get the bus... |
