(02 Sep 2014, 2:20 pm)AIG20 wrote Apparently new ADL E300s 27141 and 27142 have entered service on the 685 today, according to "Lee Wardle" of the "Stagecoach Enthusiasts" Facebook Page.

Does anyone know which vehicles 27766 and 27767 will be replacing? I think it would be a good idea is they were converted into "bike buses" to replace elderly MAN ALX300s 22121 (S121 TRJ) and 22141 (S141 TRJ).

I believe the original plan was for them to transfer out of the region - whether that's still the case or not, I do not know.

And the 800 doesn't justify it, plus it's only a seasonal service.

The 685 hardly justifies brand new buses, but look what's happened...

Aye but the 800 is worse. Practically carries fresh air for the whole route (the 6 does much better though).

It appears there is a Carlisle United Bus: https://www.flickr.com/photos/carlisle1457/15118112091/

Is it a team-bus like the Deltas that Arriva have for Sunderland and Middlesbrough-(?), or just a branded service bus?

If it was a team bus it wouldn't be on a public serivce!!

The Arriva Deltas are not team buses - they are promotional vehicles.

I agree that it really suits them.

One of the two 2714x vehicles for 685s passed Longbyre earlier on what may be the last ever 685 trip through the village due to Cumbria County Council's bus funding cuts. Added to this, Telford's Coaches are being affected the same so it is only the Arriva 185s left!!

I gather Stagecoach in Cumbria's ALX300 22495 (T495 BNL) has been delicenced for disposal, as has Dart SLF 34079 (S479 BWC), both now located at Morecambe.

Might ride some of those when I go to the Lakes with my family in the May/June holidays.

We're spending a few nights there, and one day I think they're just going shopping in a few places, and I'm allowed to roam freely on a North West Explorer! Big Grin

I've heard some of the fares over there are quite steep, though.

See my edit for the lot, press post by accident before adding the rest.

Are you stay for a few nights for the Workington day as I'd happily join you on a huge trip Wink
