RE: GNE Bus Changes. - Acky81 - 10 Dec 2014 (10 Dec 2014, 4:17 pm)Michael wrote Tbh, most of the services were gonna be the same allocations, its only the 33 and 38 allocations which isn't really confirmed. I like the idea of 33 38 and 39 branded as simplicity The 61 should be something like miners mover or just simply red. Funny how stagecoach 39 timetable disappears go north may get 39 evenings back RE: GNE Bus Changes. - Michael - 10 Dec 2014 (10 Dec 2014, 8:11 pm)Acky81 wrote I like the idea of 33 38 and 39 branded as simplicity I agree they could do something better for the 61. RE: GNE Bus Changes. - park5354 - 12 Dec 2014 (09 Dec 2014, 11:34 am)Jimmi wrote PB0002400/419 - GO NORTHERN LTD T/A GO NORTH EAST, 117 QUEEN STREET, GATESHEAD, NE8 2UA Service 97. Peak time revised times, and evening buses run from Gateshead via Redheugh bridge to Clayton Street, then as normal back to Gateshead. Service 98/98A. Peak time revised times. Services 49/49B & 49C. Daytime journeys retimed, with running times reapportioned . Peak time revised timetable. Service 27. Reduced frequency of every 12 mins, allowing more running time and recovery time. Services 64/95/96 Revised peak times. RE: GNE Bus Changes. - Michael - 12 Dec 2014 (12 Dec 2014, 2:49 am)park5354 wrote Service 97. Cheers for the additional info on changes Park =) Maybe introducing the 27 to a 12 min frequency is the best thing to do, also maybe its inline for new buses this year, 12 min frequency but bigger buses RE: GNE Bus Changes. - Michael - 12 Dec 2014 Just seen the 99 pass the hospital, carrying air, bet the drivers cant wait till it changes least then it might have some passengers on... so the driver isn't alone! This was heading towards Silksworth... Probably wouldn't be many passengers traveling to silksworth from hospital area this time in the morning. Maybe the drivers wouldn't mind driving the bus with no passengers on as their still getting payed and not having passengers moaning at them and trying to change £20 notes for small value tickets. GNE Bus Changes. - cbma06 - 13 Dec 2014 (09 Dec 2014, 6:40 pm)Andreos1 wrote Yeah, Grasswell has the X1 from the main road and the 35/a from the Burnside Estate. Even before that GNE had the 194,535,536 and X62 along Grasswell, also TWOC had the 168 Sunderland to Grasswell then got extended to Houghton. RE: GNE Bus Changes. - Andreos1 - 13 Dec 2014 Aye, there was the 161 and 164 to Sunderland in years gone by too. Was there a 162? Can't remember. GNE Bus Changes. - cbma06 - 13 Dec 2014 (13 Dec 2014, 10:46 am)Andreos1 wrote Aye, there was the 161 and 164 to Sunderland in years gone by too. Yea, ok travel had the 158,159,160,161,162,163 round that area in the past. RE: GNE Bus Changes. - Andreos1 - 13 Dec 2014 I remember the 160 and 163. New Lambton to Sunderland. Ended up being Cadet workings until the services were withdrawn. Redby ran one and GNE the other, in the mid/late 90's. Then GNE got them both. They both missed Grasswell out though. One passing Shiney College and the other via Newbottle after coming through Fencehouses and Sedletch Road. RE: GNE Bus Changes. - Michael - 13 Dec 2014 (13 Dec 2014, 10:56 am)Andreos1 wrote I remember the 160 and 163. Didn't both also serve north Sunderland? It's mad how area's have gone from loads of services to a few or none.... RE: GNE Bus Changes. - Andreos1 - 13 Dec 2014 I think the 163 worked through to Heworth at one point. Not sure which way it went. There were 'express' variations of the via Hetton 16x services, that went to Newcastle via Newcastle Road. Haha,I won't state my thoughts on all those services which were withdrawn or merged into one... GNE Bus Changes. - cbma06 - 13 Dec 2014 The ok travel services were from the 90's, yea loads of services in those days, depots closures, service cuts and services being streamlined to basic as is now. RE: GNE Bus Changes. - Andreos1 - 13 Dec 2014 A smaller fleet too, despite passenger numbers apparently increasing. RE: GNE Bus Changes. - L469 YVK - 13 Dec 2014 One way or another, I can see the Red Arrows getting MMC's (hopefully Scania) to allow the B9's to be used on the Pronto and make up shortages or, end up on the Crusader allowing the Mercs to be cascaded onto other services RE: GNE Bus Changes. - N1cholas - 13 Dec 2014 (13 Dec 2014, 11:21 am)Andreos1 wrote I think the 163 worked through to Heworth at one point. the 163 did go to heworth it was replaced by the 26 on the same route from sunderland and then the 29 and soon to be 35. I found the old timetable http://northeastbuses.co.uk/archive/GoNorthEast/160163NewLambtonSunderlandHeworthApril2003.pdf RE: GNE Bus Changes. - Acky81 - 13 Dec 2014 (13 Dec 2014, 10:56 am)Andreos1 wrote I remember the 160 and 163. Redby never ran 160 or 163 they did run the 161 tho in competition with wear buses RE: GNE Bus Changes. - Andreos1 - 13 Dec 2014 What did Redby run along Success Road past the college then? Pretty sure the 161 was Wear Buses and OK. RE: GNE Bus Changes. - Acky81 - 14 Dec 2014 (13 Dec 2014, 11:24 pm)Andreos1 wrote What did Redby run along Success Road past the college then? 161 was originally ok travel then go north east bought ok travel. Go wear buses and redby both ran a 161 against each other along success road RE: GNE Bus Changes. - Andreos1 - 14 Dec 2014 Thought the 161 just went along the main road? Can't ever remember the 160/163 (one of the two. Can never remember which one) AND 161 all going along Success Road. RE: GNE Bus Changes. - nk55 - 14 Dec 2014 163 used to go through success and turn left at the end of the road, 160 used to operate through newbottle then both services operated towards new lambton. Redby only operated the 161 which ran at 10 & 40 every hour, wear buses left sunderland at 00 & 30 RE: GNE Bus Changes. - MurdnunoC - 14 Dec 2014 Here are the 16x series timetables circa February 1998 if that clarifies anything for anyone. Also a map of the Houghton area from the same year. GNE Bus Changes. - cbma06 - 14 Dec 2014 There's loads of alternates of the 16# series over the years. RE: GNE Bus Changes. - Michael - 15 Dec 2014 Just noticed that GNE are only running the 706/707 between 9:14am and 13:44pm, will Stanley travel run rest of the times because if not the timetable has being well cut down RE: GNE Bus Changes. - MurdnunoC - 15 Dec 2014 (15 Dec 2014, 7:38 pm)Michael wrote Just noticed that GNE are only running the 706/707 between 9:14am and 13:44pm, will Stanley travel run rest of the times because if not the timetable has being well cut down I was wondering the same thing when I looked at the timetable. I'm pretty sure I still see the services operating when I finish work at around 3pm. RE: GNE Bus Changes. - Dan - 15 Dec 2014 Potentially because that's all Go North East could justify running commercially - the loadings may be lower outside of those hours. RE: GNE Bus Changes. - S813 FVK - 15 Dec 2014 Go North East will operate all runs except service 708 (which as i understand was part of the cancellation for Stanley Travel suggesting that this particular service won't operate anymore) only the services will finish some 3 hours earlier than they do currently. Currently, the last journey is a service 708 and departs Stanley Bus Station at 17:09 and arrives back at Stanley at 17:51 When the new timetable is introduced, the last journey will be service 707 and will depart Stanley Bus Station at 13:44 and arrive back at 14:12 Now baring in mind most people who use this service are OAPs, it is a wise decision to cut the service shorter than it actually is. I mean, its not as if they don't have the other services that go through Tanfield Lea, Catchgate and Annfield Plain although there are no other services that go through West Kyo, Harperley, Hamsterley Gardens or Fines Park. RE: GNE Bus Changes. - Michael - 15 Dec 2014 With Sunderland changes coming here is how i think stand changes will occur at Park Lane: Stand A – Metro replacement Stand B – X21/22/23 Stand C – X7/61 Stand D - 60 Stand E – 38/238 Stand F - 2/2A towards Silksworth Stand G - 700 Stand H – 39/73 Stand J – 2/2A towards Washington Stand K – 8/78/78A Stand L – 35/35A/36 – Towards Houghton, Chester- le- street Stand M – X1, X35 Stand N – 20/20A - Durham Stand P – E1, E2, E6 Stand Q – 20/20A - South Shields Stand R – 9 Stand S – 56 Stand T – 35/35A/36 – Towards North Sunderland, Heworth etc Stand V – 135/136/700/X36 RE: GNE Bus Changes. - Andreos1 - 15 Dec 2014 Would stick the 8 on T and swap allocations for L and around. The 8 is then with other North Sunderland services - attracting passengers to it, who would ignore if it was left as it is. Frequent services to Houghton on adjoining stands. RE: GNE Bus Changes. - Michael - 15 Dec 2014 (15 Dec 2014, 8:42 pm)Andreos1 wrote Would stick the 8 on T and swap allocations for L and around. I was just thinking frequency wise, and so stands weren't congested but i agree 8 could do better if it was on Stand T, although it only passes through the enterprise park |
