(31 May 2016, 7:36 pm)Andreos1 The long 38 (in theory), would have worked well with the 168. Both terminate about a mile from each other the way the roads work (basically opposite sides of the dual carriageway as the crow flies).

Was the 33/33A up for tender separately last time? Continually surprised this is renewed , it carries thin air 99% of the time.

The contract for the Sunderland Connect 700/701 services is up for renewal this year.
Sunderland City Council will provide 3 low-carbon hybrid vehicles in a dedicated livery to operate this contract. The use of these vehicles will be subject to a separate agreement between the successful contractor and Sunderland City Council.

GNE got it from the 4th September 2016 according to VOSA.....so it looks like it will last for 13 days before a new operator takes over, if GNE don't get it.
