(15 Jun 2024, 2:30 pm)Rob44 wrote i was on a GNE bus a while bacck when a W/c user who lived in my street tried to get on but the ramp didn't work. the driver went on his phone/radio and granted i didn't hear the whole conversation but the bus left with out them and by the time I got home they were just getting out of a Wheelchair accessible taxi ( they as in w/c user and person with them) and all the shopping at there door whilst i walked from the bus stop in the driving wind. Didn't sound like discrimination in that case!
The issue is that response shouldn't be required, and wheelchair users should be able to board buses. Obviously a broken ramp is slightly different (provided it was checked and worked on a first use inspection, and the defect happened in service), but the reports on here and elsewhere indicate that GNE have been knowingly sending out vehicles that cannot safely board wheelchair users at various bus stations, due to the centre door position of the ramp.

RE: Arriva St Helens
Today due to an accident traffic is being diverted and affecting the 10A route making it run late, in an attempt to keep the service running on time buses are being swapped at the end of the route if one is running late, so far i noticed Renown 2707, Wright Cadet 2493 And Daf Cadet 2422 all employed on the route, normally is Pulsars on here.

I hope the Moderation Team report this higher when they see this as this is disgusting! Edited by Liam. Reason: Terrible language. |

RE: First Manchester
If anyone is interested it seems that in the evenings now more so on Friday/Saturday's Geminis are the norm on 135s now, this is due to the fact that the Bendy's were having problems getting round Thomas Street due to inconsiderate parking by taxi drivers, this info from drivers I know at Bury Depot and my own observation from travelling on 135 route last night

Red Rocket in Blackpool
http://fyldebus.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/r...kpool.html Credit: Fylde Bus Blog. For the who are new to this operator, they run two local routes in Blackpool, 12 (Cleveleys - St Annes (Seasonal Only)) and 22 (Cleveleys - Mereside). They have registered a new service 80 (Blackpool - Preston) from 9th December. The above article features pictures of the Red Rocket, a new express Blackpool - Manchester service mostly using ex Go-Ahead London Artics. |

RE: Classic Bus North West
On the first few days, there was only a handful of passengers on there. No sure at the moment but it's good to see the vehicles with Red Rocket in the destination display as when they started there was one going round with "Blank" on front and "Not In Service" on the side - not very clear to anyone that it was actually in service.

Yes not sure whether Management at Classic Bus who run Red Rocket read these forums but I've noticed that they've started applying branding on the vehicles including the X70 route number, personally I wish them luck in this venture and hope that the service is still running in time for when Blackpool reopens next year as that will be when they will make their money

From sightings in/around Manchester I can vouch the Go-Ahead Olympians are still in service and believe it or not they are even out on Sundays mainly on 112/118s when other operators Olympians are safely tucked away.
I also saw 2 of them on Ashton New Road near Man City's ground last week on School Duties |
