He is a man who likes to spend his time in the bottom half of the internet and making powerpoint presentations! (He also has a TV show on Dave, and it's rather amusing)

The new contracts will start on 22nd March 2020 on a one year contract with the option for Nexus to extend contracts by a further year. Vehicles are required to comply with a minimum of Euro 5 specification and capacity is 16 / 23 / 36 depending on the allocated route.

Any news on these contracts?

6 compliant tenders were received. The review of the tenders was based on 90% price, 7% for Euro 6 or better emission levels and 3% for customer experience such as NSA and WiFi. Contracts have been awarded to Gateshead Central Taxis, Go North East and Arriva.

Which services have been awarded for March? Anyone know who is operating the 84/84A? I assume the 32A will be staying with Gateshead Central Taxis. Not sure what else is being awarded for March. What has Go North East been awarded? I hope they are keeping the 33A, and I know they automatically get the 42A contract.

RE: Tender Discussion Thread
If only Arriva, Gateshead Central Taxis and Go North East have been awarded contracts for March, I guess Arriva has got the 84/84A (I hope not!), with GCT having the 32A (unfortunately) and GNE the 33A (or maybe Arriva) and 42A. Not sure about the 13, I guess it will stay with GCT or go back to GNE. Nothing for A-Line, Stanley Travel and Phoenix Coaches? That is disappointing. I was hoping Stanley Travel in particular would get something. Would be nice to see A-Line introduce more services too.

As said above, yes, the 42A is awarded to GNE automatically because they operate the service commercially between North Shields and Dinnington and Nexus pay for the service to run between Dinnington and Kingston Park. I expect the 13 will be GCT or GNE, 32A will be GCT and 33/33A and 84/84A will be Arriva.

The new operator of the 84/84A from 23rd March is now known to me! Stanley Travel have lost the service unfortunately, as I expected with only Arriva, Gateshead Central Taxis and Go North East being awarded the contracts to start on 23rd March.

I was expecting Arriva to get it back, as they operated it before Phoenix Coaches and Stanley Travel. I think Arriva had it first actually. Not sure if the information should be in the public domain yet regarding new operators from 23rd March.

Newcastle and North Tyneside. I'm not sure how many contracts were awarded. GCT has done well, I think.
