Blackpool palladium  enviro 400 city was in the north east yesterday anyone know why passing Darlington Whinfield road

Surprisingly, the earliest of these are already being sold on by Blackpool as they intend to have a fleet age of below 5 years. Could be on its way to a new owner.

Most likely it was something in relation to the Cummins plant in Darlington, especially if there was extra exhaust systems attached.

I saw an EnsignBus BCI double decker being driven around Darlington by them on Tuesday morning.

I believe it was it had a large exhaust pipe attached  to the back of it

Unlikely they only sold 2 (301/302). I believe that these were built to a different standard or were dealer stock hence why they got rid even thought they look to have a similar interior. There was a fleet replacement plan to renew every 5 years the whole fleet and were keeping older deckers to get every bit usage and value out of them. However covid has most likely changed only renewal plans.

401/402 were sold to Warrington's Own Buses presumably as they were no longer required in the fleet, interior spec was the same as the rest of that batch when delivered (specs on orders since have been altered slightly since this batch was delivered).
