Yes it seems 14 Streetlites are going to Stockton in return for 14 Pulsars of which 1421 is the first to transfer… 1570 has gone the other way

Supposedly they have a former Wrightbus engineer at Stockton who has worked wonders on their examples, improving mechanical performance and they want to do the same to the ‘Redcar’ examples.

My cynical mind would question if 1550-9 have already been through the modification program surely you’d swap those with 10 from Redcar to keep fleet ages & costs the same? Or is there something else at play here where 14 mid life vehicles are replaced with 14 life expired Pulsars?…

The purpose of the transfer is because Stockton has ex Wrightbus engineer so they can upgrade the Streetlites so there are more reliable, the transfer is nothing to do with the routes

I’ve been speaking to a friend called Scott & we think that it would of been a better idea to transfer 1550-1559 to Redcar because they have already been done then send 1560-1569 to Stockton to replace 1550-1559 so 1560-1569 can get done then transfer 4 pulsars to Redcar from Stockton in exchange for 1570-1573 so 1570-1573 can get done, this would make it easier so Redcar doesn’t have to deal with the cost to replace older buses

The transfer of Redcar Streetlites to Stockton isn’t because of the X4 & X93 they are to be transferred so they can have work done by the engineer who is at Stockton from Wrightbus who is an Ex Wrightbus engineer but I think that 1550-1559 should transfer to Redcar then we would get 1560-1569 to replace them then Redcar only needs 4 more pulsars from Stockton to complete the swap then we can get 1570-1573 to replace the pulsars so 1570-1573 can get work done to them, there’s no point transferring 14 pulsars to Redcar which are old that would fuck Redcar up as it would cost to much to replace their buses.

RE: Redcar streetlites transferring to Stockton
The transfer of the Streetlites is permanent. It is because they are having more frequent major unit failures operating the X4/X93.
Absolutely nothing to do with any additional work they are having undertaken.

Yes, Redcar gain older Pulsars from the swap, which will be better suited to the terrain of the X4/X93 and such, but conversely, it also makes Redcar that bit more attractive for a new vehicle business case too. There is mid-term logic behind it.

Wonder if they remove the X3/X3A/X4/4 coving at this stage?

Old routes, numbers that don't exist anymore - but still advertised.

Not even the internal branding? It's been a few weeks since I was on one of the Streetlites, but I know the coving was there post-paint job.

It's probably one the few places where Middlesbrough is an improvement Wink

Surprised they never debranded them, mind I believe one of the Pulsar's at Ashington still has Stockport branding on it aswell.

We all know that 14 Pulsars are going to Redcar, you don’t have to keep on repeating it over & over again

I would be willing to bet it’ll be the 14 09/59 plates that Stockton have to give away…
