Don't know if anyone has seen the comments on this page about the recent photos posted of the Northumbria Palatines  Big Grin !

Anyone got any "whacky races" / fast ride stories from any NE operator about Leyland / Volvo Olympians, MCW Metrobuses, Deltas, B10BLE's, Cityzens? Anyone been lucky enough to be riding (or driving) a fast dead run with the saloon lights dimmed and the blinds blanked?

According to the internal newsletter, GNE have 16 "new" coaches arriving for National Express between January and April, with the first six arriving in the next couple of months.

Are these Levante 3As or secondhand from other operators?

I see the tenders for the Newcastle and North Tyneside tenders have recently closed.

I wonder if Northstar will win any?

Transport Secretary Louise Haigh resigns:

Louise Haigh has resigned as transport secretary after it emerged she pleaded guilty to a fraud offence a decade ago.

She has admitted telling police in 2013 she had lost her work mobile phone in a mugging, but later found it had not been taken.

She was given a conditional discharge by magistrates, following the incident which happened before she became an MP.

Pretty big blow for Starmer, as she's been leading on a lot of key legislation, including yesterday's vision for integrated transport announcement.
