New season is upon us, League Fixtures are out...
How will your team do this year.
Here is my predictions...
Premier League:- Liverpool
Championship:- Leeds United
League One:- Sunderland
League Two:- Plymouth Argyle
National League:- Wrexham
National League North:- Chorley
I predict Newcastle to finish Mid-Table, Middlesbrough to finish just behind Leeds
In the National League, Hartlepool, I reckoned will finish mid-table
In the National North, I reckon Darlington and Spennymoor will reach the Play-Offs and Gateshead and Blyth to finish mid-table.
South Shields will have another decent year and I reckon they will leave the Evo-Stik League as Champions, with Morpeth joining them through the Play-Offs.

Just been having a bit of a think about having a running day using some of the remaining fleet of Scania L94UB Wright Solars from Go North East for a final farewell before they are all withdrawn over the summer.

The idea would be to have a Solar from each batch from the year they were bought new with all of them being used during the day on some of the routes they used to operate, this could work two ways it could be set up for the Solar to run additional boards of various services on a Saturday or Sunday similar to what Lothian do, Alternatively it could be completely independent to enthusiasts only similar to the NNRG running days.

So the routes for the day if it went ahead would be:

4932- 57/57A - Newcastle - Gateshead - QE Hospital - Fewster Square - Heworth - Fellgate - South Shields

4966 - 194/294 - Heworth Metro - Concord - Washington - Fatfield - Shiney Row - Success Road - Houghton-Le-Spring

4968 - 35A/39 - Heworth - Boldon - Castletown - Sunderland - Barnes Park - Shiney Row - Houghton - Low Moorsley/Pennywell - Sunderland - Ryhope - Doxford International

4976 - Route 19 - Northumberland Park - Cobalt - Percy Main - North Shields

4989 - 20/20A/777/47 - South Shields - Sunderland/Sunderland - Penshaw - Fatfield - Harraton - Birtley - Low Fell - Gateshead - Newcastle/Newcastle - MetroCentre - Blackhall Mill

5216 - 220/222 - Sunderland - Houghton-Le-Spring - Durham

5221 - The Loop

5229 - OK1/X84/X85 - Middlesbrough - Darlington - Bishop Auckland - Crook/Hexham - Corbridge - Heddon On The Wall - Newcastle

Other vehicles from these batches could be used in order to create extra runs.

Evening folks.
We've made some minor changes to the forum this weekend;
Appreciate everyone's thoughts and feedback on these developments. If anything appears buggy, let us know and we'll try and get it fixed.
Cheers,
Dan.
We've made some minor changes to the forum this weekend;
- The fleet lists and Bygone Era links are back - they were temporarily removed following the recent updates to Flickr and changes to their API (which meant the photos didn't work).
- The header bar is now in white rather than black, intended to be less intrusive.
- The forum homepage includes a new 'chatbox' - designed for users to chat among each other, without fear of 'clogging up' the main forum threads with general chit-chat.
- 'View unread posts' option is now back.
- A new 'announcement' section is now available on the forum homepage.
Appreciate everyone's thoughts and feedback on these developments. If anything appears buggy, let us know and we'll try and get it fixed.
Cheers,
Dan.

The palaver around velo Midlands, currently in the news, has had me thinking about this. The road closures are extensive, with Durham itself, pretty much cut in two on the morning of the event but some roads, towards the end of the route, closed for most of the day.
I think it's going to be a nightmare for buses that normally travel through Bowburn and much of the area towards Fishburn, Sedgefield etc.
