Just thought about this. Now Volvo gave the option of the following engines with the Olympian:

- Volvo THD1***
- Cummims L10
- Volvo D10

Instead of using an integral D5K, should Volvo not have sold the chassis as a B7TL2 and used the Cummins ISBe 6.7 as the main engine option? Obviously the D8K was deemed overkill by operators and Scania had the 'heavy duty' market already covered with the N250UD.

Effectively, would still give the ride quality and handling Volvo are known for, but the power and fairly decent fuel economy of an E400MMC. Not forgetting that the ISBe is fairly fuel efficient around the doors too.

In a nutshell, would've been a good 'middle ground' alternative to the StreetDeck for operators who needed something more heavy duty (but not too overkill) and didn't want to go purchase from or deal with ADL.

Anyone else having the same issue as me with the Stagecoach App where when you click on a bus stop on the live map, none of the E's are showing, like yesterday, i clicked on the bus stop near the South Shields Ferry Landing, and it was only showing the 10, despite me knowing that the E1 also stops there

Go-Ahead agrees 1,200 zero-emission bus deal with Wrightbus - https://www.route-one.net/news/go-ahead-...wrightbus/

The new deal will see new zero emission buses delivered over the next 3 years.

First year deliveries will include 201 examples that are part-funded by the second round of the Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas scheme, with the remainder for that period for Go-Ahead London. Years two and three will be accounted for “predominantly” by London, a spokesperson says.

Areas outside the capital that will benefit include East Yorkshire, Gloucestershire, the Isle of Wight, and Plymouth.

For every bus built under the agreement between Go-Ahead and Wrightbus, the two parties will plant 10 trees in the towns and cities where those vehicles are deployed.

Of course there is no mention of the North East getting anything from this deal that has been agreed.

I am lost for words!!!!
I am currently on the 11 (towards Pennywell) and a stagecoach employee also boarded the bus had a but of a confused look asking the drivers' duty number etc... and it wasn't the one he was expecting. Anyways after we left Borough Road and approached the bus stop for Vine Place the employee asked to see everyone's tickets and passes. Not sure why he didn't wait until after the stop as he was blocking everyone get on/off.
He visually looked at people's paper tickets and scanned electronic ones on the app, Stagecoach Smart Cards & concessionary passes.

It has been like 2019(?) as the latest possible time since I've seen a ticket inspection on a bus.

Didn't know where to put this but:

Latest notes from the local meetings.......

Some good ideas:

Gateshead Interchange - Refurbishment
Demolition of the whole interchange site and the redevelopment of a bus station on a smaller footprint, redesigned to address safety and security limitations, new retail, office and accommodation space, reconfiguration of the Metro station to make better use of the space and create better integration between public transport and the retail  - 32 million by 2032

New Alnwick Bus Station - 2028

Quite a few metro station upgrades planned

--------------
Too much to discuss separately tbh

In a post on the 'Friends of the PSV Circle' Facebook group, it has been noted that Enviro400EV AR74ZEB has been made by ADL at Falkirk for Arriva. There doesn't appear to be confirmation of where this is due to go, but suggestions it may be utilised as a trial vehicle? The North East alone are expecting electric double decks for Blyth and Durham, so we may see it here.

There is also a new E400 MMC pictured, apparently for Southern Counties, but evidently investment is happening post-takeover when also taking into account the large volume of B8RLEs on order for elsewhere in the country.
