Sad to see that the B7RLE's are being withdrawn. I believe from seeing from other people they are off to Go North West.

Instead of making 7 different pages for bus events in the North East. I will post each one in here.

First one confirmed is the Tyne Tees Run from Stockton (I'm guessing) to South Shields Bents Park on the 4th of June 2023

I had this idea for this thread when I watched this video... https://youtu.be/lDx2XQY2KSM

I would like to know what barmy ideas Local Authorities have had for junctions and road layouts etc....
And what your opinions are of things like Askew Road and South Gosforth, as well as your suggestions.....

I look forward to reading about these 'gems or mishaps'   Big Grin

Announced today in the Landmark Levelling Up Fund is the allocation of almost £20million to North East Combined Authority to purchase more than 50 new electric buses.

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/landm...oss-the-uk

Exploring the linked spreadsheet, the North East Combined Authority has been allocated £19,572,261 to fund (or partially fund) a fleet of 52 electric buses, 26 rapid chargers and 92 electric vehicle chargers across the North East.

Other non public transport schemes within the North East have also been allocated funding including vast stretches of new pedestrian and cycleways, alongside a regeneration of Gateshead Quays and a production village in Hartlepool.

794

From 30th January there is a route change on the 794 (DWP - Stanley), and it appears it's replacing part of the 792 (DWP - Blackhall Mill) Just the South Gosforth Roundabout/Cowgate section by the looks of it. Does anyone know if the 792 is getting revised/cancelled?

Any help much appreciated.

Go North East are losing money so why not create dead runs into services which basically run the dead route. Only routes where I would add dead run routes will be here

Q3 you could do the XQ3 or smth and presumably it runs via the A1 so why not run the XQ3 Metrocentre - Great Park at peak times. Tbh that could be a park and ride for the metrocentre.

X1, for starts at Easington Lane/Peterlee I dont think there is a lot you can do, as a lot of them would just go on the A19 from the Depot so that would be useless I think. Unless you were to do the early mornings from Easington Lane to start at Dalton Park.

X6 - any runs from Peterlee to the Depot should just run the X6 Service back.

X21 - West Auckland to Riverside Dead runs, West Auckland - Bishop Aukland - Durham - A690 - A1 - Gateshead.

2/2A - any dead runs to and from silksworth should just be either the 33 or 35A

6 - Dead runs to and from metro should operate the X45 to Metrocentre/Consett

10/10A/10B/643 - any service which runs dead from Metrocentre/Riverside to Hexham should be called the 10X and just literally two stops Metrocentre & Hexham Bus Station, thats it Via A1 & A69.

20/20A - any dead runs to and from durham should be named the X20 and just literally run Sunderland - Doxford Park (X1 Route) then Non-Stop to Durham vice versa

21 - Any dead 21 runs from Durham to Riverside, just call them the X21 and do the X21 route to Newcastle.

39/39A/39B - any dead runs to/from Doxford Park, run it as the X20 to Doxford (vice versa), aswell 39B dead runs to and from Washington run it as the 8.

58 - Any dead runs to/from Gateshead run as the X58 from Follingsby or even Concord.

60 - Any Dead runs from New Seaham run it the way it would go dead name it 60A or smth

78 - any dead runs to/from CLS run as X78

All of these may only get a few passengers but really atleast thats some income and routes the drivers would basically already be doing dead. And you never know routes like the XQ3 (or whatever) may actually have some potential in them.

Earlier on today seen a Versa on the 19 today, never seen one before, and it got it thinking we must have had the most different types of buses running through for a place under 10k in population (Seaton Delaval). Just for example today we've had:
Enviro 400 (57/57A/X7)
Enviro 400 MMC (57/57A)
Solo (57/57A)
Solo SR (19)
Streetlite (57/57A)
Versa (19)
DAF DB300 Wright Gemini 2 (X7)
Wright Pulsar (X7)
Bluebird Orion (58)

Not to mention all these in the past year aswell:
Enviro 200 MMC
Wright Commander
Wright Cadet
Volvo B7TL ALX400
DAF DB250 Wright Gemini
MPD

Anywhere beat it or come close? Can only imagine it being down the Durham area with the bad allocations with Arriva Durham.
