Electric Buses/new orders

RE: Electric Buses/new orders
(29 Nov 2025, 7:35 pm)Malarkey wrote The new Streetdeck's will continue on the 63** Series Fleet Numbers with the full batch being delivered in a revised version of the GNE Corporate Livery and we also have a first peak at the Angel Electrics.

6149 roadstripes are about half a foot further away compared to usual fleet livery B9's, maybe this was done intentionally with a view to updating the corporate livery.

Don't get why they haven't put it in the revised version if that is the plan moving forward as it would be a cost saving.

Dim Kim promoting the launch of electrics on the 21, 58 and X66

We have big plans for every bus in the North East to be electric by 2035 ?

We’re well underway. 29 new electric buses will soon be serving three of our busiest routes, the Angel 21, X66 and 58, making almost 100,000 journeys every single week smoother and quieter.

These add to the Zero‑emission buses already running in Sunderland and South Tyneside - now it’s Newcastle, Gateshead and Chester‑le‑Street’s turn to benefit.

This is the next step in delivering the transport system the people of the North East deserve!

Her job is to promote transport for the region and not GNE. Only somebody into buses is going to realise she's not in a Go North East bus so that really doesn't matter.

In this instance she'll be referring to the joint bid with Go North East under the Levelling up Fund and Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas 2 scheme. That was agreed by Cabinet in June last year and was for exactly 29 buses, which is what the press release covers.

When the Stagecoach buses were delivered last year, she posted specifically about those too: https://www.facebook.com/NorthumbriaKim/...9605328719

You's are all discussing the bit she's on a Stagecoach bus but have totally missed the bit where there's a Diesel bus in the photo she used.

Probably would've been an opportunity to actually advertise one rather than a 14 year old E300.

You can barely see the bus, for 99.9% of the local population, that picture means absolutely nothing, and if she'd been sat in an electric bus it wouldn't have registered with them either.
