Radio 1 Big Weekend
Information from the Radio 1 big weekend shuttles are available to read on the Sunderland City Council website 

Timetable will be available from 6th March

3 locations are available for the shuttles 

These being 

Durham (Belmont Park & Ride)
Sunderland (Park Lane Interchange)
Gateshead (Heworth Interchange)

Additional shuttles service will operate between Durhams other Park and ride sites Howlands & Sniperley

Regional Coaches will be available for return journeys from 23 location across the North East Combined Authority & Tees Valley Combined Authority

23 locations of Coach pick ups for the event are

Billingham, Blackhall Colliery, Blyth, Bowburn, Byker, Cramlington / Gosforth, Darlington, Easington, Gateshead (Metrocentre), Hartlepool, Kingston Park, Marske, Middlesbrough, Newton Aycliffe, North Shields, Ord Street Coach Park, Percy Main, Peterlee, Redcar, Seaham, Skelton-in-Cleveland, Spennymoor, and Whitley Bay.

£9 for the shuttle bus from Park Lane etc!

Thats only £4 more than a return on the 2 or 78, The shuttle coaches will not be full of doris and bettys moaning about how busy the bus is and how disgraceful it is that they cant get to sit in their usual seat, also they are running direct from end to end and then no waiting around for ages in a huge queue at penshaw ornament for a service bus to see if they can get on to go home.
A bargain if you ask me, an uber would cost double that each way on the weekend

Agreed. Most likely lots of roads will be closed etc so im assuming normal buses (non shuttles) will be diverted. They usually put special provisions on for such large events
